My Computer Royally F*cked!!!

Well, like the subject implies, my computer was sodomized in a very dry manner this weekend. Saturday night SOMETHING happened, and I have no clue what it was. Sunday morning I tried starting up my computer and all I got was a nice beep code! Something didn't sound right mechanically, and my first thought was it was the hard drive. My buddy Josh told me you can actually unhook your hard drive and attempt to start your computer to troubleshoot. I do this, and the beep code persisted, so it wasn't the HD as I had thought. I had the case open and when I would start the computer I was listening for which component was making a noise. I thought it was the processor fan, so I got a replacement one and I got new RAM as well. I first replaced the fan, and the problem persisted. I then replaced the RAM, and bingo! How RAM just suddenly goes bad I have no clue. Anyway, I could then start my computer without it beeping at me (the beeps are actually computer language for "fuck you turn me off, fuck you turn me off....), hahaha. The CMOS screen would pop up and say "error loading OS," so I was able to use my XP disc and repair it. I was really glad I was able to fix the problem for about $150. If I would have taken it to the fag squad I would have been lucky to get out of there for under $600 (I want to say their labor rate is about $200/hr). To make a short story long, she's back up and running.

I did our taxes Saturday morning. Other than putting in the wrong SSN it went really smooth and we're getting a pretty good return!

My brother actually came down to visit yesterday morning. We had a really good time. We had some time to kill before we went to pick up Sonia in Lewisville (she had a scrapbooking sleep over at her friend's house), so we went to Duke's Roadhouse and had a few beers and some kickass nachos. We then picked her up and came home and fired up the smoker for a nice slow-cooked pork shoulder and had beers and shot the shit. We also snuck over to the apartment's game room for a few games of pool and a few holes of golf on an arcade machine they have over there (it was my first time to ever try the golf game). It was okay. It wasn't Buckhunter or Silver Strike Bowling.

Well, that's all I have for now.
