No lo entiendo
y
No lo entiendo.
Throughout my adventures here in Spain I have learned a lot about myself, a lot about this country, and much more about my sister. I have an interesting insight on this place where I´ve been living for a couple weeks now and I´d like to share all of my findings with you.
I have noticed that if you are over the age of fifty and are a woman you must sport a fur coat to your ankles at all times while walking the streets of Madrid.
I have learned that the Fable of Arachne is not actually about a spider.
I had already known the whole driving on the wrong side of the road thing in England, but it still in fact blew my mind and got me in a bit of trouble a few times.
I have learned that my sister approaches life a whole lot differently than I, and it amazes me we are of the same blood when she describes to me her goals in life.
In Madrid, it is apparently unheard of to have cops not holding the leash of a ferocious side dog with a cage around it´s face, which is apparently suppose to make people feel at ease but it just made me that much more nervous about the kind of pain that dog was probably able to inflict on innocent bystanders.
I have learned to never talk to mormons who are trying to evangelize you about what comes in the afterlife.
I now know what it feels like to be the only one in a room of thirty to not be able to laugh at the apparently very funny story.
I have learned that when inebriated in a foreign country you try your best to fit in by speaking the languagebut in the end just appear looking like more of an asshole screaming "PERDON" at people on the metro.
I learned that banana candy is a great chaser for free tequila shots.
I now know I am not the type of person who would be able to study abroad in another country, which only makes me that much more proud of Sam then I already was.
I think California should have a metro system, they are extremely convenient considering I was able to get around by myself y yo hablo solo un paquito espanol.(and I speak only a little spanish)
I became reinspired to paint after seeing the amazingly beautiful masterpieces at the Reina´Sofia as close as I did. (Like Guernica by Picasso!)
I found that when one is trying to be conservative you will usually end up appearing even more um...how shall we say this, provacative.
I have come to be an outstanding tetris player.
I don´t think there is anything more funny in this world then a drunk spanish girl who doesn´t speak a word of english sing along with Gangsta´s Paradise. (wayne you would have died)
I saw allie´s twin on the metro, and it made me think that we all must have twins out there somewhere in this world considering how damn huge it is.
I know I officially hate Indian food. Officially.
There is way less Harry Potter Mania in London then expected and it was extremely disappointing.
Jamoñ Serrano is disgusting and I don´t care if it´s our last name I am very upset with Sam for tricking me into eating it.
I learned Sam wasn´t lying when she says Spanish girls suck at sports, she really is like the shit out here.
I have learned that Spanish men are extremely friendly, and assume lassoing you with a scarf to ring you in is an okay thing to do.
This whole dos besos thing is exhausting, having to kiss everyone when you see them on both cheeks. It takes about ten minutes to get around the room once you enter. We had to kiss some dude that just gave us directions, this country is way to affectionate.
There are no excessively obese people in Madrid, none. probably because of Metro fitness, those stairs can be a bitch.
Okay that´s enough I know there is more but we are going to La Mordida again for dinner and I gotta shower.
It's Nick and I two years today. Love you nicholas. See you monday.
