(no subject)
just spent the last two hours at the hospital hooked up to a fetal monitor. i started having contractions this morning around 9am, but didnt think much of it until i noticed that they were rather uncomfortable and Very regular (every five minutes). i let it go on until after lunch, then called the midwives and they had me come in. i wanted to take a shower before i came, so i did, and went in around 3. they hooked me up to the monitor. baby looked very healthy and active, and indeed, i was contracting, regularly, but very weakly. after about an hour of monitor and some excessive amount of water (five glasses!) being forced down my throat, they gave me a shot and the contractions stopped completely within five minutes. the midwife sent me home with the following instructions:
no sex until after i am 36 weeks aka "pelvic rest"
drink a 8oz of water an hour
chill out for the next 24 hours - watch a movie (she even suggested i watch "love actually") hehe.
called my boss, and i'm not going to work tomorrow, so that i can continue chillin'. I think that will be good.
