(no subject)
house is underway! Mark tore out the kitchen floor, ran all of the new plumbing for the new half bath, and even built the new wall for the laundry room/half bath area. the new couch is in place, and its quite comfortable and fits nicely. very exciting. my friend Gina and I spent some time shooting plastic bathroom tiles off of the walls this evening, then came home to eat dinner - Mark wasnt far behind. its been a long day. he says we are going to get a dumpster in the next couple of days, which means the biggest project - the porch/new dining room - is about to start.
We are heading to Maryland to visit my grandpa and aunt and uncle over memorial day weekend, and Mark says his goal is to be Moved In to the house by the time we leave!!! so, im glad he has lofty goals - i hope we can stick to them!
i had a small babyshower with some of my grad student friends today - it was very pleasant. we ate some yummies, then hung out at the park for a bit while one of my friend's sons played on the swings. it was a beautiful sunny day, but not too warm. baby got a cute cow bathrobe, a bottle warmer, and an inflatable ducky tub! :)
im working at Allerton all day tomorrow trying to get ready for summer camp. since Cathy is still on maternity leave for another week, i've been trying to get some of the pertinent things done before she returns to save her some extra stress. i have to finish the camp plans, make supply lists for all of the campers, and sned confirmation packets to the hundreds of kids that have already signed up. i think over the summer we see somewhere around 200 kids - crazy. Luckily, most of my own work - internships mostly - is almost done, so i will be focusing more and more on camp in the next couple of weeks.
overall its been a marvelous day and ive really been enjoying seeing our house come together. it makes me more excited about life in general. now we have a place to be a family together and to make our own. its cool!!
