Sign up to take the MSF novice course if you want to try one out. You can get a subsidized class for $100 (unsubsidized for $225). That will give you two days of riding if nothing else, plus a ticket that you trade to the DMV for your motorcycle endorsement.
Good way to see if maybe you are interested in getting your own.
That's what the MSF course is all about. Takes people from zero time on a bike to being able to ride around on all roads safely. The subsidy comes from the state as an incentive to take the course instead of trying to teach yourself. The course is so popular though that they can't subsidize all of them.
Yeah, traded the SV. :( I would have liked to keep her but it wasn't financially feasible to do so. I'm still working on convincing him to get a bike instead of a scooter. We are going to hit up the beach with you guys, so if you happen to know somebody with a 125 or 250 that we could get him out in a parking lot, might be a way to twist his arm. :)
Indeed.. I took it out for a ride yesterday and ended up on 405 at one point. Acceleration on the on-ramp was OMGIVEGONEPLAID! The front end stayed down but if I had rolled just a touch more it would've come up instantly. ;)
I actually like the windscreen, and it does a pretty good job of deflecting wind. Just need to get some stabilizers so it doesn't flap around at high speed.

Wish I could bring it over for the beach trip this summer so we could all go out for a ride.

Sad to see one less in the SV club, though. But I bet it's fun!
