Chapter Two: No One Knows Anything

Part One: The Bracelet

"Do I really have to help you?" Yamada sounded like he couldn't be bothered, as he walked into Chinen's room.
"I didn't really ask you to help move some of my things into your room.." Here we go again.. His annoying side is appearing. Chinen was already putting a few of his clothes into a small cardboard box.
"Yeah, but Johnny-san did."
"You just answered your own question." He looked at Yamada for a second, then continued with what he was doing.
"Whatever." Yamada walked inside, and started to look around. "What exactly do you need help with anyway?" he raised his eyebrow as if he couldn't find anything that were essential.
Chinen, automatically thinking that Yamada was annoying him on purpose, stopped, and took a deep breath, "Look, if you don't want to help me, and you'd rather be somewhere else, then please be my guest and leave." he said sternly, gesturing towards his bedroom door.
"Wait, what? What did I do?!" Yamada was clueless as to why Chinen wanted him to suddenly leave. In truth, he wasn't intentionally annoying him, he was serious about asking what he needed help with. But seeing as Chinen thought this way, he played along with it.
"You're not leaving?" Chinen looked at him.
Instead of replying, Yamada showed a mischievous grin, and this immediately caused Chinen to feel awkward. He could only get rid of the feeling a few seconds later. Then he headed to his still-flooded bathroom.
Yamada quickly followed, seeing Chinen stood at the edge of the bathtub, as he entered. "What're you doing?"
"I need to get that bracelet." Chinen stretched his arms towards the top of a mirrored cabinet. Then an image of a solid, round bracelet was visible as he reached further.
"It's pink. How girlish can you be?" Yamada watched the younger boy as he struggled to get hold of his accessory.
"It's pink and black, actually." Chinen pointed out.
Yamada ignored this and carried on watching him, but after a seconds he suddenly spoke, "Hey, stop."
"Why?" Chinen kept stretching himself upwards.
"'Cause you're bathtub's still wet, and your standing on a slippery surface ..Well, much more tip-toeing on your right foot, than standing ..It's too dangerous."
Chinen's mind was so fixed on getting hold of his bracelet, that he didn't even notice Yamada's sudden change in attitude. "No! Not until I get it. It's important to me.." he trailed off, waving and extending his arm further.
Yamada stood still for a while. He remembered Chinen was always wearing some sort of bracelet.. and now he noticed that this was the one.
He always wondered what kind of bracelet it was, and what was so important about it that Chinen had to wear it all the time.
Not being able to disagree with his thoughts of being concerned, Yamada said, "Fine, if it's that important to you, just come down and I'll get it ..Your too short, Chibinen." he managed to hide his worrying from Chinen behind this sentence.
But Chinen was only thinking of getting the bracelet, and obviously he couldn't tolerate being called Chibinen again, so instead of coming down, he became angry and lunged himself into the air to reach further. "Stop calling me tha-"
Crash.
"..OWW!"
"..Don't say I didn't warn you.." Yamada found it hard to speak, as the other boy was now on top of him. "How can you be so small yet so heavy at the same time?"
Chinen rolled his eyes, then thought of a come-back. "You wanted me to come down, so now you got your wish." a smirk appeared on his face for split second - Yamada didn't see - before he quickly got rid of it.
"I did tell you to come down, but I didn't mean for you to fall on me." Yamada was now the one annoyed. Chinen considered this as a victory. Ha, Ha! First time I actually got on his nerves!
In his mind, it was very noisy, what with all his thoughts of being proud of himself, and all. But what he didn't know was that, outside of his mind, there were a few seconds of silence.
"So.. when are you planning to get up?" Chinen was startled, as he realized the situation he was in. Well.. the situation he has been in, in the last few minutes.
After a few moments of analizing, he seriously knew what was going on. Where he was - literally on top of Yamada.. their chests were in full contact -. ..I can feel his heart beat.. He dared not to look at Yamada, but his curiosity of what expression he had on, overpowered this thought. In the end Chinen did turn to face him.
Yamada just wore a plain face, but something about it made Chinen feel.. weird inside.
Yamada met Chinen's eyes.. then their gazes locked..
They were both simply just on the floor, a quite-flooded one, in a bathroom. Lying, one on top of another.. while stillness surrounded them.
This is all that was happening, very simple situation ..But this was not what the two guys were thinking..
Why do his eyes seem so...? Chinen couldn't describe the pair of eyes that were locked to his.
Was he always this...? the words 'attractive', and 'cute' came across Yamada's mind, but he was too stuborn to admit it to himself.
Is that my heart beat? Chinen felt the thumping go faster. But as his chest was pressed against Yamada's, he couldn't tell who was responsible for it.
This scent of his.. it's so.. alluring.. Yamada blinked. He noticed what was going on, and tried to afoid getting sucked into his feelings of confusion and undescribable emotions. Then he said, "So, you're still not getting up.."
This seem to do the trick and break the weird, heavy tension that surrounded them.
Chinen's eyes fluttered, like someone who woke up from being hypnotised. "Uh- Sorry.."
He then got up quickly, and was originally planning to stand, but as he felt throbbing pain shot between his forehead and scalp, he failed to do so. Instead he fell back onto the floor, landing on his knees, in an instant.
"Ite! ...What is that?" Chinen asked himself and lifted his hand to touch the area of where he felt the pain come from.
His fingers felt a bump, followed by a thick liquidy feeling. Before he could figure out what it was, Yamada suddenly got up.
"Hey, are you okay? You're bleeding.." he grabbed Chinen by the wrist. He didn't realize he started to grip harder, as he saw the blood trickle down Chinen's face.
Chinen was shocked, that he just looked blankly at Yamada, not really knowing that they were staring at each other again.
Yamada, on the other hand, was looking at Chinen in a really worried way. He didn't seem to care anymore if his concern showed. What had mattered to him now, was getting Chinen's injury treated, fast.
"Hey~, Chii!~" A faint voice gradually came closer. "Me and Ryutaro finished with his things~ So I've come to help yo-" Yuto came past the door, and was shocked at the scene displayed infront of him. He saw Yamada looking angrily at his bestfriend, while grabbing strongly onto his wrist. The one last thing that made Yuto burst out in fury, was seeing blood on Chinen's face.
"YAMADA! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO CHINEN?!"

Part Two: The Cloudy Atmosphere

Even though Yuto's voice was the loudest it could get, Yamada only turned to look at him when he felt someone tug on his t-shirt.
Yuto's tug turned into a pull, the next second. This made Yamada stand, but was still holding onto Chinen's wrist. "I asked you," Yuto's darker eyes faced Yamada's, "what did you do to Chinen?" his voice was now very low, but also very deep. The three of them could sense his anger, as they felt heavy atmosphere fill the room.
Yamada didn't answer Yuto's question, even on the second time it was asked. The only thing he did for a response was put on an annoyed expression, which spread across his face.
Just when the atmosphere could change into an even heavier one, there came footsteps near the room.
"Chii-kun!~" Ryutaro made a noise as he twisted the handle of Chinen's bedroom door.
"I'm helping t-" He entred. And immediately, the three in the bathroom turned to face him.
Yuto loosened his grip on Yamada's shirt. "Ryu-"
"Chii-kun!! W-why are you bleeding?!" Ryutaro rushed by Chinen's side.
"..taro.."
He saw that Chinen was in a state of blankness. "Who.. DID THIS?!"
Yuto recovered from being ignored, then turned to face the guy infront of him, tightening his grip gradually. "Yamada."
Ryutaro stood up, and glared at Yamada. Now there were two who eyed him, angrily.
Yamada was irritated, and angry aswell. He was getting accused of doing something he would never even do. Thinking about it made it worse, and frustated him more, so he softly let go of Chinen's wrist, then grabbed Yuto's to pull it away from his shirt. He exchanged glares with Ryutaro first, before he left the room.
When Yamada couldn't be seen anymore, and the two guys stopped glaring at him, Chinen heard the door clicked shut. This was like a wake-up call to him, and he blinked out of his trance. It was like he woke up from a dream. He had no idea what just happened. The only thing he could remember was that he started bleeding, and that Yamada came up to him, with a very concerened expression.
Chinen looked at his wrist, and realized that Yamada wasn't grabbing onto it anymore.
"Where's Yamada?" he asked, still trying to remember what happened.
"Who cares-"
"Chii-kun! Are you okay?!" Before Yuto could finish his sentence, Ryutaro suddenly started to speak.
"Huh? Uhm.. yeah, I'm fine." Chinen replied.
"Are you su-"
"But you're still bleeding!" Yuto attempted once more, but Ryutaro did the same thing.
"Don't worry, I'm fine." Chinen faced the younger one, pasting a smile which spread across his face, so that Ryutaro wouldn't worry anymore.
The two were making a conversation, and Yuto was left out of it. And as Chinen and Ryutaro's conversation grew longer, without ever having to join Yuto in, Yuto understood that he wasn't actually needed anymore.
He was happy that Chinen is okay. But he also felt sad that there was no use for him, now.
Although the thing that hurt the most, was seeing Ryutaro talk to someone else.. and it wasn't just any someone, but it was Chinen.
The two didn't notice that Yuto had started to head for the door. Yuto knew they wouldn't, anyway. He slowly shut the door, while his eyes witnessed Ryutaro carefully wipe the blood off Chinen's face. Both of them smiling afterwards.
The door clicked shut, and Yuto walked away.
Yuto, don't be like this. You know that the one Ryutaro cares about is Chinen.. not you.. so there's no point in feeling..
He didn't want to finish the sentence.
Yuto went inside his room, and patiently waited for Ryutaro to come back.

Ryutaro had nearly finished wiping all the blood off of Chinen's face. "I can't believe Yamada did this to you."
The smiling boy, infront of him replied, "Hmm. I know." Immediately after answering, Chinen was confused. "Wait.. What?"
"Yamada. He did this to you, right?" Ryutaro faced Chinen, as he answered him.
"What? No. Yamada didn't do this to me." He looked at Ryutaro weirdly.
"Huh? But Yuto said.. Wait, what are you on about Chii-kun? You and Yamada were the only people here.." Ryutaro slightly shivered at the thought, "and you got hurt like this. If Yamada didn't do it, then who did?" he too was getting confused now.
"Wait, wait, wait." Ryutaro misundertood. "I think you've got the wrong idea, Ryu. Actually, thanks to Yamada, this is the only injury I have."
"..What? ..Okay, so what really happened then? How did you even get hurt, in the first place?"
"Well.. I was trying to get my bracelet," Chinen pointed to his accessory that was still on top of the mirrored cabinet. "But as you can see it's too high for anyone to reach, so I stood on the bathtub."
"What?! But that's too dangerous, Chii-kun!! Your bathtub's still wet, even now, and it's too slippery.." Ryutaro kind of had the idea where this was going to now.
"..That.. is.. weird. What you said.. is exactly what Yamada said to me then." Okay, I admit. I was stupid for doing that. But I couldn't help it.. I needed to get my bracelet.
"Okay.. So, what you're trying to say is that Yamada warned you, and he wanted you to get down from the bathtub, before you hurt yourself?" Ryutaro started to feel bad about thinking Yamada injured Chinen.
"..I guess.." Earlier, Chinen wasn't really thinking about why Yamada wanted him to come down. But now that Ryutaro suggested the reason, it made sense.
He started to wonder why Yamada suddenly became kind towards him, although suddenly Chinen remebered why he jumped, instead of come down. "But he called me 'Chibinen'" He narrowed his eyes, as he said this. "So Instead of coming down, I jumped higher (I really thought I could've reached the bracelet), and slipped. I did land roughly on the ground, but luckily Yamada broke my fall. I.. landed on him." Chinen hesitated on the last sentence.
"You.. landed on him.." Ryutaro repeated it once outloud, but this sentence kept echoeing in his mind. He couldn't get rid of the thought that Chinen was ontop of someone.. rather than him. I need to stop sounding so possesive! He shook his head and let go of the thought.
Then Chinen spoke. "So.. you and, Yuu? Thought that Yamada did this to me.. and got angry with him..?"
Ryutaro didn't want to tell the truth, but he didn't want to lie to Chinen. "Yeah.."
"..You'll apologize to him.. right?"
Chii-kun is soo kind. Even though Yamada's been annoying him since he can remember, he can still worry for him. Well, Yamada didn't acually do anything bad anyway, so it would only make sense for me to apologize.
"I will." Ryutaro said with a sure smile.
Chinen smiled too, then both of them got up. In the end, Ryutaro helped with moving some of Chinen's things, but only up to the front of Yamada's door. Ryutaro didn't want to see Yamada yet, so he left for Yuto's room when everything that Chinen wanted was moved infront of the door.
Chinen sighed as he knocked.

Part Three: The Cold Floor

I expected him not to come and open the door, but wouldn't he at least say 'Come in'?. Chinen opened the door, and entered the dim-lit bedroom. Is he asleep? Chinen wasn't surprised. Afterall it was nearly 1am. But still, I was hoping he would help me with my stuff. Even just to shift them all inside, so that no one will trip over them. He thought this, while he tried his best to do it himself, instead.
After a few minutes of moving, and shuffling of bags, and cardboard boxes, Chinen was finally finished. All he needed to do now was sleep.. But where exactly am I gonna do that? He looked around, scanning Yamada's bedroom for a sofa.
"You don't realize your making a noise, do you?" Chinen nearly jumped out of his skin, when he heard Yamada's voice underneath the blanket.
"Where am I gonna sleep?" Chinen found a sofa, at last. It was abit small, but it's okay enough for him. "On this sofa?"
"It's not that dark in here that you can't see there's a pile of clothes on that sofa, right?" Instead of sleeping peacefully, Yamada got annoyed.
"It's only a pile of clothes. I can just place them somewhere else." Chinen was desperate for a place to sleep now. He felt so tired that he could collapse any minute.
"Have you forgotten who's room you're in? You don't just decide for yourself, and plus they're my clothes. I decide where they go or where they stay, thank you very much."
What the hell?! Why is he soo annoying?! All I want is a place to sleep, and now he's making a big fuss about his clothes.. And what's with that attitude? Chinen got so frustrated that, even though he knew he had no energy left, he could still imagine himself going over to Yamada's bed and strangling him.
He tried to cool himself down, then asked "So, where am I gonna sleep then?"
"On the floor." Yamada said, like he couldn't care less.
"On the floor?! But it's cold, and plus I have nothing to lie on." Chinen was getting angrier by the minute.
"Use a blanket or something, then." Yamada pulled the blanket over his head, and faced the opposite way to Chinen.
Chinen felt like he was actually going to strangle him any second now, but even if he did that, he knew it wasn't going to do anything. And plus, he was too tired to argue back.
A couple of minutes later, he was lying on the cold floor, with only his not-so-thick blanket inbetween them. He felt the air on his skin every so often, but he tried to endure it, and hope he can actually sleep.
"You finished making a noise?" Yamada called down from his bed.
This was probably a retorical question so Chinen just ignored it, and stayed still. He tried not to make any sounds, but his plan didn't work when he suddenly sneezed.
"Seriously!" Yamada shouted. "You're not gonna let me sleep are you?"
Another retorical question, Chinen thought. "Well, sorr-y." he said, sarcastically. "I told you it was cold. And I can't sleep with lights on.. aren't you going to turn that lamp off?"
Yamada sat up and looked at Chinen. "Well, I can't sleep with lights off. So I'm keeping them turned on." he lay back down on his bed.
Great. First the sofa, and now the lights. I can tell we aren't going to get along any better than we normally do.. Chinen sighed again.
He was complaining about being really tired earlier, but now he can't sleep. Maybe the floor was just too cold, or maybe it was a different reason. He tried to change his sleeping position a few times but it didn't work. So he just lay there thinking about, things. A few seconds later, he remebered the incident in the bathroom.
"Uhh.. I think Ryu and Yuu misunderstood about what happened earlier." He was hoping that Yamada was still awake, but there was no reply. Maybe he is still awake, but just has nohing to say? Oh well.. I tried. Chinen closed his eyes and started to count sheep.
But just before he could start to dream, Yamada spoke. "..Does your head still hurt..?"
Chinen was startled.. again. And this question of Yamada's got him wide awake. So, now he changes his attitude.. and cares about me..? "Uhm.. It's okay, now.. I guess.." that was all he could reply. "By the way, how about you? Did you get hurt?" Chinen really wanted to know the answer to this, just to make sure. But he sounded bored, as he yawned the last word.
It took a while before Yamada replied. It seemed to Chinen like he was thinking about his answer. But Chinen didn't pay attention much now, because in any second he felt like he could go to sleep. "No. I didn't get hurt."
This was enough for Chinen to feel calm, and reassured, so he quickly drifted off to sleep after he heard Yamada say 'didn't'.
Moments later Yamada could hear the younger boy make heavy breathing noises, and this automatically made him think that Chinen was asleep.
Now it was Yamada's turn to let out a heavy breath.
He had no idea why, but for some reason, his heart has been beating harder and quicker than it's suppose to be, since Chinen came in through the door. He put one hand over his chest, and pressed down. It feels like somethings gonna burst out've here any moment..! He tried to calm himself down, then he ran his hand through the side of his forehead. It hurts.. but at least he's okay. Why does my forehead have to be so hard, anyway?! ..I'm glad he hasn't found out that his injury was caused by my forehead, though.. Cause if he did, I know I'll feel guiltier. If only I could've protected him more..
Yamada slowly drifted off to sleep, not realizing that now, his heart was beating even faster..
