DARKER THAN BLACKTen years ago, an inscrutable and abnormal territory known as Hell's Gate appeared in Tokyo, altering the sky and wreaking havoc on the landscape. The heavenly bodies disappeared, replaced by false stars. During this time, people possessing various special abilities emerged, each capable of different supernatural feats - these are known as Contractors. Each fake star has a corresponding Contractor, which reacts to their activities. As such, Contractors are usually identified by their star's Messier catalogue number. Kept secret from the masses, these individuals are known to murder in cold blood, smothering unnecessary emotions with logic and rationale. Their incredible abilities, however, are gained at the cost of their humanity - Contractors are thus named because of an involuntary compulsion to "pay the price" each time their power is used, which can range from eating particular foods and completing meaningless tasks, to self-harm and having their bodies change in peculiar ways. Various nations and organizations around the world train and utilize Contractors as spies and assassins, resulting in violent battles for valuable objects and information.
While it's not an awfully new anime, it is near and dear to my heart. In a very few words, you could call the protagonist (anti-hero?) Chinese Electric Batman. :D

Daikūriku is an Earth-like planet in a binary star system populated by humanoids who resemble humans, but are all born female and develop as girls until age 17, when they choose a permanent sex. At some point in Daikūriku's past, a more technologically advanced culture flourished, but it has since crumbled, and much of its technology has been lost
Also, not an awfully new anime! But if you’re a fan of theotech and, well, girls piloting mysteriously powered aircrafts, this is for you!

KARNEVAL Nai searches for someone important to him, with only an abandoned bracelet as a clue. Gareki steals and pick-pockets to get by from day to day. The two meet in a strange mansion where they are set-up, and soon become wanted criminals by military security operatives. When Nai and Gareki find themselves desperate in a hopeless predicament, they encounter none other than the country's most powerful defense organization - "Circus"!!
Nai is more than reason enough to read this. If not Nai, then Nai’s dynamics with Gareki. Okay, that not working? Gareki’s dynamics with Yogi. If all else fails, Hirato and Akari’s dynamics. This manga is so painfully easy to slash.
