There's this twinge of nervousness I'm experiencing. A feeling that everything is going to go wrong, to end badly.
The series finale of The Shield is tonight.
I'm caught up on the show, and have watched all seven seasons through the good and the bad. I'm an addict and I really don't want it to end. But it's good that it will have a true ending, as opposed to so many shows that are aborted before they reach that point.
The show is phenomenal, but it is stress-inducing. It is so predicated on lies and covering up actions that it makes me twitchy. It definitely increases the tension, as the characters try to achieve laudable goals, but take many illegal shortcuts to get there. Every season has a tagline, but the first one was the best: The Path to Justice is Twisted.
Will the characters get what is rightfully coming to them? Will those who are less corrupt suffer fates they do not deserve? Twelve hours from now, I'll know the answer.
