"THEY SAY YOU'RE HERE (EVERY MOMENT)"

Death feels... strange. But then, is it death? Does one know when one is dead? He can't see, can't breath, but there's no pain and no fear. And if he is dead, how is he thinking? Peter was always more of a believer in reincarnation, life being a perfect circle. But he's still Peter. He still has his memories, his beliefs. So is he dead?

He decides he must not be, because far off in the distance, almost like a memory, he feels a searing pain tear through his entire body. He knows that when he returns to his body- if he returns to his body- the pain will be unbearable.

He'd lost Nathan somewhere along the way. He can't feel his brothers arms around him anymore, doesn't hear the comforting sound of his voice. But he is oddly unafraid. After so many years of clinging to Nathan and turning to him for everything, he's finally able to let go. Peter suddenly has a whole new understanding of "til death do us part". If he could have, he would've twisted his mouth at the irony.

Suddenly, everything stops. The distant pain disappears and the fog surrounding Peter and his thoughts seems to lift. For a single moment everything is clear. Perfect. Peter knows. He's not sure of what exactly he knows, but he knows he knows it. This time, Peter's mouth does twist into a smile.

And Peter wakes up.

THE END
