The next day, we slept in. If not for Keiko who came to tell us that the tour bus will be departing soon, we would probably still be sleeping. It was almost midday.

We hurriedly prepared ourselves and our stuff. But there was no more time to have breakfast. Lina was already having last call for boarding. We were the last to board. We got in just in time then I realized, we don’t even know where our next destination is.

“Ano, sumimasen (excuse me), could you tell me where we’re going?” Misaki asked Lina after we’ve caught our breaths.

“We’re going to the Seaside.” Lina informed us. “It’s quite far from here so we had to leave early.” She added in observance to our obvious rushed state.

“Anyone for cookies?” Chie said as she took out her supply of snacks from her backpack.

“Yes please.” We hungrily replied.

“Good Chie, with all that rushing, you were still able to think of food.” Byul commented as she nibbled on the cookie.

“Of course, you can’t do anything with an empty stomach.” Chie replied matter-of-factly.

“Exactly.” Misaki chimed in. I simply nodded. I’m just really grateful for the food. With all that rushing, the only thing I made sure to pack was my camera and water.

We arrived at our destination an hour after.

When we got off, I paused to take in the view before me. It was marvelous. We parked at a hill overlooking the clear blue sea and behind us, just across the road, there’s a mountain. I took a deep breath of the fresh air and felt the cool breeze blowing.

We walked along a pathway going down to the sea. When we got there, there was a cottage where we placed our bags and where some of the tourists could change into their swimsuits. Unfortunately, since we didn’t know that we’re going to the beach and left in such a rush, we weren’t able to pack any swimwear.

Luckily, there was also a small restaurant so we decided to have a proper meal first. Afterwards, went for a walk on the beach.
“Too bad, we weren’t able to bring any extra clothes.” Misaki remarked as we watched the people swimming. “It looks so much fun.” She added turning to us.

The people there did look like they’re having fun, mostly families. I took a picture of a dad carrying his little boy on his shoulder. There was also the little curly-haired girl burying her mother in the sand. Watching them, somehow, made me wish that my family was also here with me.

“We’ll there’s nothing we can do about it. We left in such a rush.” Chie responded.

“Honestly, I don’t like to swim in the sea.” I admitted.

“Come on, it’s not so bad. The view’s great. Why don’t we eat some ice cream instead? It’s getting hot out here.” Byul suggested. We agreed.

We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and just enjoying the surroundings. By sunset, my friends went to fetch our stuff while I went to take one last shot of the sun setting.

The cloudless sky was red-orange in color. As I was walking along the beach waiting for the right moment and angle to shoot, I saw a person standing while also looking at the sunset just a short distance away with his back turned towards me.

With the sun setting in the background and his figure being silhouetted by the light, casting a long shadow in the sand, it looked quite dramatic. I found my perfect angle and moment.

I hanged around for a little while, watching the sun setting before my friends called me, the bus is about to leave. We slept most of the way back. It was dark when we arrived back in the hotel just in time for dinner.
