Yes, I'm like a week late, but whatever - I uploaded it on the 30th on Twitter so that counts! Anyway, to celebrate our precious MatsuJun's 37th birthday I translated a page from Popolo, July 2005, with 50 questions for Jun. The 3 categories are Arashi, Everyday Life, and Personality. Enjoy!



Arashi

Q1. What's Aiba's key feature?
- He has the vibe of a Judo athlete. [T/N: 柔道 literally means 'gentle way' so I'm assuming this means Aiba is gentle.]
Q2. What's Sho's key feature?
- He often plays futsal.
Q3. What's Nino's key feature?
- He is a huge fan of video games.
Q4. What's Ohno's key feature?
- He really likes Okinawa.
Q5. If you were to hang out with the other members, where would you go?
- From now, and in the future, I want to go with each member and see fireworks.
Q6. Between the members, who have you known for the longest?
- Nino. In the past, I wore the same shoes as Nino twice.
Q7. What is your role in Arashi?
- It's to disturb things, to stir things up.
Q8. What's your favourite filming recently?
- The D no Arashi episode where we experimented how far a bike delivery service would go to get something we requested. [T/N: episode #98 (I think)]
Q9. What was the hardest filming?
- The Mago Mago Arashi filming in which we took a Mandarin Chinese course. It was difficult, and I wasn't able to remember anything at all. [T/N: episodes #2, #4, #6, #8]
Q10. Please teach us some of the Chinese you remember.
- "Wo ai ni." It means "I love you."
Q11. What was an interesting experiment you did in A no Arashi?
- We blew bubbles in minus 50°Celsius. [T/N: D no Arashi episode #91]
Q12. In Mago Mago Arashi, when you become grandsons, what things do you need to keep in mind?
- I didn't go yet, but try not to make mean comments.
Q13. What is Arashi to you?
- Arashi is Arashi. My name, the thing where I show myself beside my name.

Everyday Life

Q14. What's your favourite phrase?
- "But well..."
Q15. What's something that made you happy recently?
- The company president praised me for some work I did.
Q16. What's something that made you angry recently?
- I felt quite irritated by an impolite taxi driver.
Q17. What's something that embarrassed you recently?
- In an news coverage, when I tried to change my clothes there was a hole in my pants...
Q18. What's something you regretted recently?
- I'm aiming to always live each day without any regret or remorse.
Q19. What's something that's bothering you at the moment?
- Will there be an earthquake in the Kantou region? [T/N: people talk about a large earthquake that might one day destroy Tokyo (Kantou), I assume this is what he's referring to.]
Q20. Please tell us what your plain clothes are for today.
- Jeans, white underwear, and a plaid shirt. In addition, a sleeveless denim jacket on top.
Q21. What have you been doing in your off-time lately?
- These days, I don't have any off-time. When I do, I want to go see a theatre performance.
Q22. Are you the type to call, or send texts?
- Ideally, I would call. But if someone sends a message I would respond in the same way.
Q23. How many messages do you have in a day?
- Today I received 9 messages, and I sent 3.

- It's ♪.
Q25. Are you the type to respond to a message immediately?
- When I can, I'll respond straight away.
Q26. What's your snack today for when you're waiting?
- Plain yoghurt

- Pasta with my original sauce.

- Tom yum goong (a Thai soup).
Q29. What happens when you confess to someone you like?
- "I don't like you, I don't like you, I don't like you." Because if you say it 3 times it sounds unnatural, it rather means "I like you". It's a joke within my theatre troupe (lol).
Q30. How do you want to be called by a girlfriend?
- Please refer to me however you want (lol).
Q31. How would you celebrate a girlfriend's birthday?
- I'd go as far as making a cake (lol)?
Q32. Would you rather care for someone, or be cared for by them?
- I want to be cared for but I think I also want to try caring for another.
Q33. Please tell us your current hobby.
- To simply enjoy myself.
Q34. These days, what's your height, weight, shoe size and eyesight like?
- I'm slightly taller than a full-length mirror, heavier than Hello Kitty, and my shoes are approximately the same size as Wada Akiko's. For my eyesight, with a naked eye I can just about see road signs.
Q35. What's your favourite book?
- It's called "Leather". It's a book which lists various kinds of leather. [T/N: 'Leather' is pretty vague so I couldn't find this book, sorry.]
Q36. What's your favourite movie?
- I like films which have the theme of loneliness. "East of Eden" is one.
Q37. On average, how many hours of sleep do you get nowadays?
- Around 4 hours.
Q38. What kind of dreams have you been having lately?
- Basically, I rarely have dreams.
Q39. What's something you bought recently that you're proud of?
- I didn't buy it myself, but my decorative house plant. One day, when I came back home it had been put on top of my desk in my room (lol).
Q40. What's your favourite place in your house?
- Beside my plant (lol)
Q41. Please tell us a recent anecdote with your family.
- The other day, I received a text from my father saying "We're turning 5 this summer too" with a picture of the turtles we keep at home after it (lol).
Q42. What thing are you worst at?
- Being kind to people.

Personality
Q43. If you get lost, would you ask someone for help?
- Hmm, would I? I think I might.
Q44. Do you believe in God?
- I do, because it seems to help people.
Q45. What do you want to do by the time you're 30?
- I want to see and understand various things.
Q46. Out of men and women, which gives the best advantage?
- Neither.
Q47. What's your motto?
- Survival of the fittest.
Q48. How about the 3 main components of Matsumoto Jun?
- Blood, muscle and water. Oh, also my mom and dad.
Q49. Do you think you're matured?
- No.
