Ramblings
Wal-Mart sucks. Balls. But I MUCH prefer this wal-mart to the B-ham one. People actually say "thank you" in North Attleboro. Managers are understanding, have realistic expectations, and don't fry you for making an honest mistake.
And we get home made chocolate Chip cookies after particularly hard days.
Mostly I just like feeling appreciated. Hearing a "thank you" from the store manager, the assistant managers, and my own supervisor is just... nice. After the two summers at B-ham, it's a VERY welcome change.
Made some friends there. Alysha and her fiance, Nick. Nice people. Alysha kinda reminds me of Missy pre-blowout... Nick is quiet, but funny. Like a much taller, slimmer Brett. They apparently run a haunted house thing in Pawtucket every year. I've vollunteered, because it sounds like a fun time. Not to mention: I'm going to be a person who's basically been mummified with Barbed wire, and get to chase people around while screaming in "pain". That's going to be a FUN time. (They're still looking for vollunteers, but they really need people they can count on, so, only if you think you can commit to most of the dates... which are fridays and saturdays in october, and 1/2 sundays.)
Marvel planning is going... ok. Need to come up with something simple/ easy for my newbs that isn't too cliche. I mean... a bank robbery was cliche enough. But it spawned something fun. No lie... I made 90% of it up on the spot. But it's given me a lot to go on. I now have an idea for like... a crisis. ^_^
But the idea for the new players doesn't even have to be in Patriot City, it can be anywhere, since it isn't cannon to the series. Maybe it'll just be a PVP fight. I dunno... don't really want to do that unless I have to though. I'd like to keep it as close to a real session as possible.
And I'm a wicked nerd. I got some posterboard, drew 1" grid on it, and got the whole thing laminated. It's now a large rollable, dry-erase map! Pretty spiffy, and fairly cheap. 2 sided. infinitely customizable, and I think it'll work really well for marvel. Though I'm actually thinking I should have done one side just blank, so that I can free-draw a large map. but oh well! I still have a left-over piece of posterboard, so I can do that later. For now, this works.
