The anti-chai descends

Mar 15, 2007 09:05

There's a Cibo's in New Farm here at the Coles complex on Merthyr. When our QA lead took coffee orders one day when we were working over Christmas, I asked for a tea, but something exotic. She returned with a Power Chai, a chai tea made from a milk infusion.

On some mornings I'll make the detour just to have something different.

This morning, I couldn't be bothered dropping the money (because I don't believe hot beverages should come in any size smaller than alto), so I resolved to produce an alternative from items in the kitchen here at work.

English breakfast tea, brewed from a teabag in a shot of boiling water, and stirred into in a mug of near-boiling milk and honey may not really be an effective substitute, but I can't say I mind the taste anyway.
