Well, my great house-clearing project is off to a good start, with all three cross stitch kits that I put up for auction last week selling. It's not going to make me loads of money, and in all cases I sold for less than I paid initially for the kits, however, it's more money than I would get by having them sitting around the house, so I am happy. I've put another four up for auction this week, we'll see how it goes.
My copy of Harry Potter arrived on Saturday (God Bless Amazon!), however I've only read the first couple of chapters so far. I'll probably read a load in the car next weekend as we're travelling down to Winchester to see my Mum. Reading in the car is always good, as one of us reads aloud, so both of us can share the book :) I must say, it's started well, I'm looking forward to finding out what happens in this one.
Went out for lunch with Ruth's in-laws yesterday, to celebrate their one year anniversary of moving to the area. Lovely meal, but we were sat in the conservatory area of the pub, which was more like sitting in a greenhouse!
Today we have a man coming to give us a quote for taking out the fireplace in our lounge, and a man coming to remove the Horse Chestnut tree from our front garden. Next door's kids are going to be gutted - they've really enjoyed climbing in the tree recently, and I'm sure the conkers will be missed this autumn. But it has to be done, as it's interfering with both our phone line and our drains.
