NERDY BATTLESTAR SPOILERS BEGIN
The Battlestar finale was 98% awesome. Finding Earth, Adama's ring, Tory, and Tyrol going off to be Braveheart was perfect. The flashbacks and flash-forward worked really well. Even Baltar growing a pair was nicely done. The one thing I could not abide was Starbuck. Look, I totally buy the ambiguity of the "Angels," even though I always wondered what they were. But Starbuck? No way. You want to end her story and make it spiritual? Fine. But you can't do that. Still, I cannot wait to get those DVDs.
NERDY BATTLESTAR SPOILERS END
I left my internship on a good note so I can get more hours at Borders. I saw my most recent schedule and it was kinda pathetic. They put me on Saturdays now, meaning I miss Culture Shock, Ethan's birthday party AND the premiere of the documentary I worked on in 07 called "Racing Dreams." I'm just glad my taxes are paid. I even get a $153 refund.
Since I can't see the bands I want to at Culture Shock (Murphy's Law, Streetlight Manifesto, Jimmy from Degrassi), I'll be splitting the difference and coming up for Pre-Shock on Thursday (for better bands like Greg Baldwin & Co and Candy Hearts).
For Passover I went to my sister's friend's beach house in Amagansett, the last town on Long Island before Montauk. The sedar was nice. The day after, her friend Dave and I drove to Montauk and got high on the beach. Have you ever smoked pot on the beach? How about when there's NOTHING in front of you but water. It's a trip. I'd never been that far out on Long Island in a while so it was cool to go.
Also, movies: Adventureland was...overrated. Sorry, I liked it, but I've heard tons of praise for it and it didn't live up. It was kind predictable too. Unfortunately, Gigantic kinda sucked. It was a typical "weird for the sake of being indie" movie and a waste of a great cast. Lymelife was pretty good though. Nothing new really but not bad (although it's obviously not filmed in Syosset, Long Island where it's supposed to take place). Observe and Report was fucking wonderful. One of the best things Seth Rogen has ever done. See it. Now.
