Bad luck

After a good short weekend break in McCall we were just down out of the mountains and into Eagle when I got a flat tire, I try and navigate out of the left hand land into the right where I can pull off the road into the generously sized area between the lane and the dirt.
Thankfully it was passenger side tire so I was able to safely change it, After removing and inspecting the tire there was nothing obviously wrong with it. I put the doughnut tire on to get to a place where tire could be replaced, the foot pump then breaks on the part where it connects to the tire so the doughnut tire is now even flatter. Looking around I see a Les Schwab tire center, a short distance away, with cars out front, unfortunately it was closed all day Sunday so I had to carry the flat tire back to the car after taking it with me to there.

We then crawl along on the low tire till we see an Albertsons supermarket with a gas station, go to the air hose and it is out service, then go in and they have plenty of things that can make the car shiny but no pumps, crawling further along the road we found an actual garage with a working air hose, with sufficient air in the doughnut tire we made a slightly better speed to the nearest tire place to get replacement, unfortunately this involved 55 mph roads and I do not trust the doughnut over 35 mph so a lot of people got annoyed a having to go round me.

After getting to the Walmart I now have a new tire and made it home just after dark with a 2 hour delay in the middle of the day and I still have to buy a new foot pumpor find away to replace the end of the current one.

In happier news we had fun in McCall even though it was foggy,I'll get some pictures of it up on facebook and try to remember to link them here
