I have decided I've had enough of hearing every year that my grandparents have lost their ketuba. I'm going to get a copy, if possible, and I'll also be researching the ketuba of my grandparents' parents (say good luck).
About my grandparents, who got married in Belgium, I have contacted the tree communities there.
The mainstream Orthodox one told me they don't have anything.
The charedi one, I was told by a rabbi with a very strong Belgian accent that he would search and let me know. Interestingly he didn't know my husband's name is Jewish, although it screams Yekke.
The Sefardi one, that I must call back tomorrow.
There is always the possibility of an independent rabbi, like "a friend of the family", as my cousin's parents did, and they could never find anything then.
About my grandparents' parents, I am contacting various people and organizations in Poland and Greece, for no result up to now.
