Summary: Winter is upon them.

The witch hunters moved through the forest, Hansel in the lead while Gretel walked behind him. Her brother stopped at the top of a small hill and pointed ahead of them.
“The village is right on the other side of those hills.”
Gretel followed his pointing finger and she could indeed see some smoke from the village off in the distance. Most likely from fires that the villagers were using to fight off the winter cool. She would be happy to sit in front of one of those fire but she was tried and her feet were hurting from walking in the snow.
She looked to Hansel, “Can't we just build a tent and sleep outside tonight?”
The sun had already set and a light snowfall had started. Hansel turned to her and shook his head, “The nights are getting colder the farther we go into winter. We'll need to sleep indoor until spring.” He took a step closer, wrapped his cloak around her and pulled her into a hug. “I promise, once we get to the village, we'll find a nice warm meal and you can rest your feet by a fire.”
She smiled and gave him a hug back in return, “You could always carry me.”
He pulled back and gave her a light punch on the shoulder. “In your dreams, now come on.”
Gretel stared at her brother's back for a few second before following him. As she moved, she glanced at the sky and made a small wish that hopefully the snow wouldn't pick up until they were save inside of a inn somewhere.
The End
