Eating with Super Junior, Singapore

Dec 01, 2011 22:05

The Straits Times, Wednesday, 30th November 2011. And I quote, “on Monday, they (the fans) even swamped a Raffles city restaurant when a Super Junior member tweeted that he was there.” I had to keep myself from LOL-ing on the floor cause heck yes, I was in the restaurant with my darling friend 8D

SUKIRA, not sure which date. But here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1K9tt-WnqTA. Where Ryeowook was talking about how Hyukjae kept wanting to eat Korean food [kekeke]. A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU LEE HYUKJAE! IF NOT FOR YOU, YUTING AND I WOULD BE TROLLING AROUND KALLANG AND NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO. [And I would have to deal with a depressed friend.] Here’s an extremely BIG <3 to you Hyukjae! :D

Okay. So how did this all happen? Of course, in this modern world where technology is so advanced….all you have to do is to send a SMS…. The power of SMS-ing… But anyway, being the kind soul that I was (Lol; further proof during Friday’s Teen Top fanmeet which I won’t go into detail now), I decided to accompany my friend to ‘stalk’ Super Junior; partly cause she’s extremely restless, knowing that SJ’s in town while we’re at home moping, and also, I needed a motivation to haul my lazy ass off to do my homework. So, we reached Kallang (S’pore Indoor Stadium) rather early and…moped around. Not really, we just sat at the mall’s Burger King and started doing homework/napping. Then, we decided to ‘heck, let’s just go to the Stadium’, so we ended up randomly walking up and down and around the stadium, hoping that miracles would happen. [Sadly, it didn’t]

Being teens, playgrounds naturally appealed to us. So we decided to stand underneath the shelter in the playground and…look out for nice scenery. And we saw 2NE1! :D But they did rush into the stadium pretty quickly, so we didn’t have a chance to take a proper look. Lo and behold, it started raining. So we were stranded in the playground, underneath the leaky shelter. O.O

Rain stopped, and we continued trolling around stadium, until about 2PM++? When Yu Ting’s phone rang and heck yes, her friend informed her that SJ were eating at Bibigo, Raffles City, which Siwon kindly tweeted a couple of minutes later I guess. So, we just bee-lined for the Taxi, went straight to Raffles City and all the while, we had butterflies in our stomach, almost literally. What if they were cold to us? What if they weren’t there? What if the restaurant was fully booked?????? And cause Yu Ting’s bias is Hyukjae, I felt more worried for her (I’m still bias-less, sadly) because she’s one true ELF and she really likes/loves Hyukjae. I swear, the entire journey there was so nerve-wrecking, it was worse than taking EOY exams/ important exams/ First day of school.

Thankfully, we had the restraint to not slam open the Taxi door (must maintain the good reputation of us, if not Singaporeans), though we did kinda rush into the mall. Though when we were working our way through the underground maze of the Basement level to try to find Bibigo (thank god for my parents bringing me to ‘tour’ Raffles City the day before), we started to slow down and BREATHE and appear calm.

When we reached, the fans grouping around Bibigo wasn’t that big; just that the ‘whispers’ of “Super Junior!” wasn’t that...well-whispered. Steeling our nerves, we went to the waiter and told them that we were gonna eat in the restaurant. Thankfully, the nice guy led us to a table even though our view was pretty much blocked by the darn wall. We could only see their manager =( [Whom I mistaken took as Donghae at first cause of the shirt and cap] BUT HEY! WE WERE IN! HELL YES! 8D

But apart from wanting to see SJ, we were REALLY hungry; it was 3.30pm? And we didn’t have our lunch so yeah…two hungry people can be very persuasive. :D We just ended up ordering a fried pancake*** and slowly munched our food while keeping our eyes on the ‘private room’ that SJ were in. I think it was about 30 minutes later? That the managers started moving, and SJ appeared. AND THAT FOUR-SEATER TABLE WAS IN OUR PATH TO MORE AWESOME VIEWS OF SUPER JUNIOR. ROARRRRRR!!

Siwon appeared first, and other than “Holy Cow, he’s tall!” we could NOT believe how good-looking he was, and without make-up! Scratch that, he’s flipping handsome, with his good-natured look and smiling face. Then Sungmin with his baseball cap; flipping hell, he’s gorgeous [And I envy his body] and just way too cute! I’m really restraining myself not to caps this entire passage. Then Hyukjae walked out, with that mask over (quite sad), and yes, he’s really gorgeous too! And I totally forgot to bow to them; just smiled and tried not to take any photos/ show any stalker-ish actions. Just sat there and pretty much admired their beauty (and tall-ness). If not for the shock, the both of us would be crying (in happiness). At that point of time, I felt really blessed all of a sudden, kind of like a dream come true? Partially true; the actual dream was to go up to them and make friends heehee. But I really really really swear; heck, I’ve never seen guys that good-looking, without make-up.

What touched me the most was, how tired all of them look (okay, only Sungmin and Hyukjae. Siwon’s a permanent sunshine that day I think), and it’s just; I felt extremely empty that night, wondering if that’s how SJ live their lives. It’s just, unfair you know? And that empty feeling is, apart from being indescribable; it’s really this sinking feeling that I wouldn’t want anyone to feel it at all. Especially not Super Junior, who worked so hard for (more than) half of their lives to stand at where they are now. And to fans, I wouldn’t mind if you guys ‘stalk’ your idols (heck, I do. My first time too) It’s perfectly natural I would say. But for the video-camera and photo taking (and to some extent, the fan cheer and all), maybe it’s best if all these are kept to a minimum? Because, I for one, highly respect privacy; something our boys never got ever since they started on this arduous journey. At least allow them some personal space; you guys can go over and quietly observe (and fangirl WHEN they’re gone) instead of screaming and all. It also disrupts public peace, ya know? Though, this IS just my personal opinion.

I’m just gonna end here, cause I feel that I have nothing else to say. Apart from SJ’s performance at MAMA was definitely one of the best, if not the best, performance this year. [Over 10 minutes of Super Junior awesome-ness!] haha…I was reading my book quietly, while keeping out for SJ’s performance on the TV. When that WARNING signal started flashing, I went, “WTH?” To those who got to sit near Siwon, you lucky people! ;)

Okay, I’m seriously ending. I apologize if my fan-account isn’t all that interesting, since I did try to keep down the fan-girling. But this is merely an experience that I wanted to share with everyone, not to invoke any form of jealousy or anything. (‘dude, we only saw them, NOT shake hands and all)

Toaqilahfilzah, thanks darling! For asking me to write, because I know I wouldn’t have the courage and everything to actually type out this entire experience. =)

To all ELFs: WE. MUST. WORK. TOGETHER. FOR. GDA. DAESANG!

And to everyone else, I wish you all the best whenever you go out, that you’d manage to catch a glimpse of your favourite idol(s)! =)

P.S. To all ELFs who haven't seen this,

Bonamana- "Im getting some water!"
Sorry Sorry- "Im washing my hands."
Mr. Simple- "Im drying my hands."
A-cha- "Look!! My hands are clean"
No other- "Can I hug you then?" :)

Cute, no? ^^
I took this from Facebook, where quite a number of pages where posting this. so, not mine! =)
