Jury Summons: Loving the irony

Jul 25, 2007 05:13

Well, that's a grand surprise.

Here I am, I've got my 2 weeks notice put in for work, getting everything set up to move, to be in Canada by the 9th or 10th or so, and what do I get in the mail? A jury summons. For Aug 31st.

Oh, that is funny. One of those laugh-or-cry things.

Of course I'm going to tell them to shove it, basically. Nicely, though, of course.

It's like life decided to poke me in the ribs because I was too happy about the move. Well, screw life and it's bothersome coincidences... I want to be excited about it, so I will. **sticks tongue out at Fate**

And that uber sweet apartment deal we found was taken. A lot of nice apartment deals have been taken. We are on the hunt for a non-taken sweet apartment deal.

I have a feeling it'll go like my wedding ring.

See, for weeks and weeks and weeks we looked for a ring for me, for our wedding. And we just couldn't find anything... either it was too expensive, or it just wasn't the right ring. So, finally, 3 days before we leave to get married, we found it. It's exactly what I wanted: Simple, beautiful, elegant. And managed to get it at a steal of $250. It took some effort to get the pawn shop lady to get it down that low, but it did, and yay. 3 days before we left, I had my ring.

I have a feeling it'll be like that with this, too. So, I won't let my hopes sour.
