She's decided to help us move to Edmonton (likely in part because she'd like her son in her own country).

This effectively makes us debt free, and able to start off in a new life, as it were (not literally, of course :P) debt free, with a decent savings, and financially not worried.
That was the only major downside to the Edmonton, that we'd be a few thousand dollars in debt, which may not seem like much until you look at our income.
