[Doctor Leonard McCoy is not amused. But that's often the case anyway. It's the story of his life. And he sighs a bit even as he looks at the communicator. Don't mind that he's going to address the network like one might address the comm on a starship. This is Doctor Leonard McCoy. I've gotten myself situated in this little clinic set up here. It's ( Read more... )

[Oh look at that, an actual doctor. An actual doctor who can tell him just what kind of medication he should be using, rather than what he has been doing which is pick out the safest one from his viewpoint at least-- mostly just painkillers-- and yes, this... Could be useful. Still he hesitates.

Doctors do have this unfortunate habit of caring for their patients after all, but from what he can tell from this man's tone, then hopefully not? He seems like the no bullshit please type. Not that Yoite is one who is qualified to judge this, but he just thinks he kind of sounds like that. Hesitating, he opens, then closes his mouth and lets out a sigh, before speaking up;]

How are you with finding the right kind of medicine.

[And then a pause again, before;]

And I might bleed. It won't need stitches though. [Just saying...]

If you're bleeding, how about you let me make that determination, yeah? I don't actually mind people who need help coming for help. I'd just prefer people take better care of themselves in general, first and foremost.

[A pause.]

As for medicines, I've got a good working knowledge of medical conditions and their assorted cures. What I have access to here though? That's another matter. But I can probably figure something out. You're human, yeah?

Yeah.

[And a pause... Human. Well, biologically, yes. Even if he's not really supposed to be even that any more. Nothing that needs to be mentioned though.]

I am.

Great. That's my specialty. Though aside from Mr. Spock, I haven't seen any other races I recall from my interstellar anatomy class.

[He eyes the boy curiously for a moment.] Well, first of all, what's your name?

For another why don't you come by the clinic. You can tell me about your situation and I can give you a look over, and we'll see what we can come up with as a solution.

[Well, he supposes giving his name out is kind of a necessity.]

Yoite.

I can come there now. If you have time. [He's not going to just assume...]

[McCoy nods.] No one in the waiting room at all. [It's a joke. There's not really a waiting room. Well, there's a sitting area. But that's beside the point.]

Stop on by. Door's always open, so just let yourself in. Do you know where it is?

I'll be there soon.

[There's a sound of the watch being snapped shut and then nothing. He's on his way and soon enough he arrives outside the clinic, pausing a short moment before stepping inside quietly, lingering by the door for now.]

[McCoy pokes his head out of a backroom when he hears the door. This must be the kid he was talking to, right?] Yoite?

[He nods his head just a little, still lingering by the door kind of nervously. He has had the same doctor for years now, a doctor who understood his condition, but this one... It wasn't like he could tell the truth here, so it would only be treated like a medical condition rather than something caused by his powers and that makes him a bit nervous because he doesn't really know how a doctor would react normally.

This is necessary though, so it's not like he can really turn and run out the door- Somehow he feels like he's come too far by now and can't really go back without more questions coming up from it. So he stays where he is, shifting uncomfortably, eyes on the ground as he wonders if he should say something, but... He figures he'll let the doctor speak first.]

[McCoy watches the kid expectantly. Ok.] Well, come on in. I've got an exam room back here set up. You can take a seat.

[And McCoy? He'll be taking notes for his file.]

[Another nod and he pulls his hat off as he finally wanders in, still somewhat tense, uncomfortable, but that's fairly normal behavior for him. Focusing on what he was told to do, he moves to take a seat. He figures he should probably take his coat off too, but... He'll do so when told to.]

[McCoy pulls out his tricorder. Yoite can keep the coat for a moment more while he adjust its settings.] So, take off your coat, make yourself comfortable.

Think you can tell me what's brought you in? [He'll find it himself, but it's nice to hear about what the problems the patient has been noticing.]

[He takes the coat off when told to, folding it neatly and keeping it in his lap. He's uneasy, visibly so, but reminds himself that this is something he's doing out of necessity, even if he'd rather avoid it all together. Kind of hard to avoid it, when your continued existence kind of relies on taking care of oneself in the correct manner and unfortunately, the correct manner was not something he could come up with on his own.]

Various things, really... [He shrugs, in an almost nonchalant manner.] I cough until there's blood sometimes... Fevers... My bones hurt... Sometimes it feels like my heart skip beats...

[Of course, even as he lists these things he doesn't appear too concerned with them. He's pretty confident he won't die anyways. It's just kind of preferable to keep the symptoms under some control.]

[McCoy listens to that laundry list of problems and blinks.] That's a lot of serious symptoms. Have you ever visited a doctor where you're from? Were you diagnosed, or is this all idiopathic?

[Ok enough of the questions. He picks up his tricorder and approaches the kid.] All right. This is going to give me a read on your vitals and the like, and we'll go from there.

[A pause.] You look underweight. Are you eating regularly?
