[ There was searing heat, pain radiating in every fiber of his body. It was a struggle to think, to speak, but adrenaline gave him the ability to surpass his own limitations.
He wasn't able to talk, to run, or to fight, but he was able to beg.
And then, it's as if his brain tuned out. He was stuck within a dream, and the unrelenting pain was dulled.

[Man, but does this arrival give Conan a bad vibe.]

And just how did you come to such wild conclusions? What purpose is there to this 'prison'?

... No one can help you there, but there are a couple here able to heal and tend to wounds.
[Unless of course a certain Nobody wanted to be ended by Keyblade instead of chakram. Yeah, he could do that, too.]

I'm insulted, Riku. If the state of disrepair visible from just the platform is any indicator, I don't require the aid of such mediocrity. [ Puts on his smug face, but he still looks exhausted otherwise. And eff you and the keyblade you rode in on. :I ]

You'd be surprised what you find in the ashes.
[He kept his tone of voice neutral, but Vexen wasn't the only one who 'felt' insulted. Especially after everything this group has gone through together, old and new alike.]

[ Of course, Vexen didn't have to clarify what he was talking about. He was sure Riku was smart enough to know that Vexen was going to be ALL over that sudden growth spurt. ]

Recently, however, that group of seven has taken over from The Watcher and The Interloper, and as yet we don't know what has become of the original masters of the city. You'll have to ask 'Vash' for more information on that, as I haven't had a chance to speak with him and get more than the base details from him. It's been a recent development.

Regardless, I won't be needing the assistance of this 'Vash' you mentioned. I'm perfectly capable of using my own eyes to discover the truth for myself.

It's a prison, not entirely unlike the Realm of Darkness. The differences being, we get brought in and let out by the Watcher and Interlopers will alone. And that this place isn't infested with Darkness or Heartless.
The method by which it was done, we don't know. We only know that their powers outmatch anything we have, and that they can tamper with memories. For all we know, we were drawn to the train and they just erased our memories of it.

I see. Aside from the method in which I boarded the train to begin with, I don't have any gaps in my memories. Are there any reports of people having other memories altered?
But precisely how would you know what's within the Realm of Darkness?
Reply
On occasion. People who leave and come back, sometimes don't have a single memory of the city. And sometimes, they do. It's happened to my friends. And recently, people were different than they used to be, but they remember being that way rather than the way we remember them.
[Aqua frowns.]
Because when I leave Ruby City, that's where I'll be returning to. I'm trapped there. One prison to another.
[Aqua's still.... just a little bitter about Terra leaving the city. Again.]

You'll have to explain it more clearly than that, but I do understand that it's possible to leave and return without any recollection of the visit.
[ He lifts a brow, head canting slightly to one side. ]My name is Vexen, by the way. But in such case, I suggest you quickly accept the fact that you will be returning to the Realm of Darkness once you leave. I'm sure you know as well as I the effect harboring ill emotions can have on a citizen of light in such a place. [ That, and the Organization really didn't need someone else hunting them down on a vindictive rampage.
...But he wondered. ] Are you the only one there?
