[The feed cuts on abruptly, and Vanille's face comes into frame. She looks a little frightened and a bit frazzled. From her surroundings, it looks like she's in a more residential area of the city, where the park butts up against the back of the buildings.]

[She's cut off abruptly by a chorus of loud, low growls. Vanille's attention shifts dramatically, the communicator dropped to the ground. Its new view reveals several hulking black humanoid shapes with pinpoint red eyes. Their outline makes them seem as if they're formed from organic material. At the corner of the feed, Vanille stands, her posture that of someone who just got caught doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing.]
Stay back! Don't come any closer or you're gonna regret it!
[Her voice wavers just a little, but she pulls out her odd weapon, clicking it into place at its full size. With a swing of her body, she flicks the weapon outwards at one of the monsters with the intention of attacking. The monster simply catches the weapon with long tendril like fingers and yank backwards, pulling a sprawling, stumbling and terrified Vanille towards the group.
The monsters circle, blocking any view of the girl. One however, spots the communicator and lunges at it unnaturally fast, cutting the feed off just as Vanille screams.]
