[Gilbert has made the mistake of taking a nap in the middle of the day. He hadn't meant to. He'd been reading, and drifted off. Further compounding this mistake was his choice to do such in the living room on the couch. But the fire in the fireplace was warm, and the couch was comfortable. And it's only now as he shifts and his communicator topples to the floor and springs open that the video feed begins.
It shows, from its strange angle, Gilbert's motionless figure. Though, what can be seen of his face at the moment does not look like he's sleeping peacefully. His brow is furrowed, in confusion or perhaps pain. His body tense and not at all relaxed as it should be in a nap. All at once, he gasps and sits up, looking around as though he's not sure where he is. Golden eyes are wide, and questioning.
Another moment and he notices the communicator, picking it up off the floor. He's breathing like he's been running, and his voice is distant when he speaks.] Dreams are just dreams... aren't they?
[A moment later and he seems to remember himself, and the pocket watch. He clears his throat.] Does anyone know... if there's a way to remember things you've forgotten for a long time? They can't... really go anywhere, right? In most cases. [Alice is an exception, but that's always the fact.] Do I even want... [A shake of his head and he sets the communicator aside.]
