Ah, I was wondering if anyone still wanted any of the moon cakes that miss Vietnam and myself were making.

W-We kind of decorated parts of the city with red lanterns that we found and we even made our own little flying lanterns with rice paper we found.

What is the Mooncake Festival? Are these mooncakes "cute" as well?

I suppose you could say that's part of its charm?

Mooncakes are often given to people who have feelings for one another, but thousands of years ago they were used to send secret messages to generals in time of war.

I see.

That...sounds like a rather intriguing evolution, from messenger to representation of affection.

I suppose when you have four thousand years between stories things tend to change.

Yes, they're called the treats of the heavens. My mother and I used to make them when I was little.

Would you like one?

Hmm, usually the mooncakes are used for the lunar festival where we honor the moon. Often it's a lover's holiday where you give your crush or lover a moon cake.

If they reciprocate your feelings, they give a peach.

I'll have some cake.

[ Doesn't matter what it is, or what it's made of. Free food! ]

Really? Oh I'm so happy to hear that!

Which do you like? Chocolate or- ah- fruit filling or possibly a custard? I have some bean paste, too.
