She could have teared up, crying and hugging him and thanking him right then and there. Of course, she didn't actually do that. It was far from proper, and with him acknowledging her masculine side without prodding, she certainly didn't want to go and act overly feminine and spoil it.

Instead, she smiled cheerily, nodding gratefully. "I don't want to go embarrass myself without knowing what I'm doing at all." She'd spent her whole life since the accident convinced that replacing her knee joint had been the best option. It had been what her father wanted to do, and she had always trusted him implicitly. And yet now that she had a false leg all the way down, she was discovering she had so much more freedom, far more than she'd ever had before.

"I've never tried before," she admitted, stepping closer to him so they could start. She wasn't used to being this nervous, either, having always stayed to things she knew she could excel in. But surely she wasn't about to let this uncertainty stop her. So instead she forced herself to smile even more brightly, her confidence propping itself back up easily enough.

"I'm sure you're a good enough teacher... Anyone can teach anything they know, the question is do they have the patience to do it, I think..." With the exception of ergaleomancers, but that would start a tangent.

It would have been a rather awkward affair for John should she have.

His smile was a touch bashful--and still a touch uncomfortable with the concept of attempting to teach a young man to dance in the middle of a public square. "Well...perhaps you should reserve judgment until you discover whether I am indeed capable after all."

Still, it was easy enough to slip back into the guise of a teacher. Two months was hardly long enough to forget. "It's best to begin at the start of a song."

She nodded easily enough, waiting for the start of the next song. "It's asking you, asking Arthur, or staying against the sidelines, I suppose..." She smiled for him, cheerful and bright. She was willing to trust him; after all, it was only dancing.
