You know you want a nice new hat. Or perhaps a bangle? Something nice and sparkly, for you--Or perhaps for someone special. Stall after stall after table after booth line the streets, attractive displays of trinkets, clothing and other unusual sundries angled just so to catch the eyes of passers-by.

Does it work? Aren't you curious? Or even perhaps a little derisive- Surely nobody really buys this sort of thing, right? Wrong~

And through the lines of stalls peddling wares, a shadow moved. Celty was on foot this afternoon; the streets had become all the more crowded since the festival's announcement that it would have been impossible to bring her horse through. The foot traffic was nearly comparable to Akihabara on the weekday afternoons.

Despite not being aboard her motorcycle, the Dullahan still wore her usual bodysuit and the bright yellow, cat-eared helmet that contrasted so much with it. Despite the extra dark tinted visor that always remained down, she seemed to have no problems with browsing the various things on display, pausing to pick something up for a closer look now and then.

To be sure there were elements of this different face of the city that were even more strange to John than the city usually was. It represented a time in the past, rather than the future, or at least vaguely that ideal. And it had creatures not even his dream held.

Despite that, however, there was something more familiar and comfortable about the atmosphere of this version of the city, and as the festival began he found himself wandering the marketplace with the heavy purse he'd been given. He had very little personal needs--books, parcel, pens...but there were a few baubles he also stopped to inspect. He had such an excess of funds, it seemed improper not to find something as a gift of gratitude for the certain young lady who'd put up with his rather haphazard tour of the city.

[It's a little sad that Rikku actually has a festival-goer dressphere, but we aren't going to talk about it. She's left her goldfish at Hotel ShinRa and has already eaten her cotton candy, so she's on the prowl for other things to do. She just happens to see the stall with the most sparkling sparklies that ever dared to sparkle, and is immediately enchanted. She leans close to everything, her gold pieces jingling in the pouch tied to her waist.]

Ooo, shinies!

[Gwendolen looked up from the old looking mirror she was checking out]
It's not that shiny.

[Rikku looks up blinking, and shrugs.]

To each her own!

Something catching your eye, Rikku?

[He's peering over her shoulder, a bit of a smile on his face. With the absence of his usual white attention grabbing clothes in favor of something a little more muted, he looks completely different from normal.]

[It actually takes her a second and a half to recognize him, but once she does, she smiles back and tucks one of her braids behind her ear.]

You look nice. And pretty much everything. Then again, I've always had an eye for things that glitter.

Why thank you. [He returns a grin at the compliment, casting his gaze over the table of wares for a long moment before he reachs over her shoulder to pick something out.]

Well if I had to pick one for you, I'd probably choose these. [Him? Smooth talker? Never~]

[She looks at the earrings very closely for a few seconds and then turns her head towards him, smirking a bit.]

Is it because they match your eyes?

Now where in the would would you get that idea from?

[He laughs, obviously teasing.]

[She laughs as well. It's nice to see him in such a good mood. Not all cranky and boss-like.]

I think I'll have to pass on those. [Impish smile.] I'm sure they'd look good on you, though.

[Waiting for his Date] theshredder47 April 18 2011, 22:29:16 UTC
All dressed up and with his Oroku Saku mask on, the Shredder stood patiently by a group of chattering creatures as he waited for Morrigan to arrive. Really though, The Shredder did not like waiting for anyone. As a businessman he had learned that no everyone arrived on time, and therefor patience was a must.

His attendance here was merely a social thing, which was why he invited the succubus to attend with him. He was rather used to festivals and gatherings like this (though most of the time they were in his honor). He was not in any hurry to do anything right now, though he was faintly interested in the surrounding wares.

Morrigan's headache had been held at bay, and the added bag of coins hadn't hurt anything. Dressed in comfortable and casual clothes, Morrigan listened to the king's speech and frowned before filing the nagging feeling that she couldn't place aside. Walking through the crowd, she spotted Saku and waved to him.

"I hope you haven't been waiting long?" she asked, reaching him a few minutes later.

omg, it should be Saki >.< my mistake -facepalm- theshredder47 April 18 2011, 22:55:01 UTC
"No, not at all." The Shredder said smoothly, bowing to her as she approached. "I am merely pleased that you have decided to grace me with your presence." If she had really kept him waiting, then he would have tracked her down and killed her, simple as that.

"Good!" Morrigan replied, smiling at the formality he was displaying. "Likewise, I'm glad you invited me. I'm not a huge fan of going to things like this by myself." Holding out one of her hands, Morrigan nodded to the area around them. "Shall we?"
