It hadn't been easy to admit that she needed help. She was the one that found answers, figured out how to make things work, gave comfort and encouragement whenever needed. But ever since the event with the Heartless and her time in Vale's care, her faith had been eroding until she was beginning to doubt everything about herself.
If - no when - the next crisis occurred she knew she'd break. She couldn't let that happen. Her crew needed her...maybe. Well, she needed them and that meant she needed to be strong for them. So she contacted Ethan, taking him up on his offer of help.
After politely shooed her customers out of the shop with polite smiles and promises that the shop would be open during the usual hours tomorrow, Jan set up a table near one of the windows so that they could enjoy the fading evening sunlight. She drew the lace curtain across the window so anyone who looked in would see only a hazy blur of the shop's only occupants.
Telling herself that there was no reason to be nervous, she began making a pot of tea, ignoring the watch on the counter and the temptation to call Ethan and cancel their meeting.
