I got to my polling place at 7:30 and teared up as I walked down the ramp into the basement of the church. The line for my precinct was short, so I got my ballot right away.
I got to a booth and skipped ahead, starting my vote by filling in the oval next to Obama and Biden. I could feel myself grinning the whole time.
This is the first time I've voted in the morning, and I've never seen more than 4-6 other voters, but this morning there were a few dozen. The girl who signed me in (I think she was one of the Seattle University voluneers) asked how I was this morning and I replied with, "I'm very excited!"
I was giddy as I left and barely remember the walk to work.
I can't believe today's finally here.
