So several YEARS ago, I had two dreams within a few nights of each other that I found out later were about places that existed but I had not heard of.
I just tonight found out that not only do they exist in the same perfect detail as the dream, but they're the same goddamn place.
I've yet to recover from how deeply they shook me, and now I have this

I don't know if I am or not but right now I want to go to Jebel Barkal really. really badly. If the ruins of the Temple of Amun there look any more like the dreams I had I'm going to pop. Now I'm not really saying I think I'm being given this knowledge by something... really, I think it's knowledge I already had, but I am dead certain it was not in this life. Everything else in my memory is clear as sunshine as soon as I get a memory trigger. I do not get partial memories. I either don't or I do.
I don't know. I just know something is out of the ordinary here. And it's driving me bonkers.
The latest dream, which fueled this post, was half nonsense to start but got very grave and suddenly vivid. Flooded jungle (second occurrence of flooded forests in vivid dreams), being taught divination (by Natalie Merchant please do not ask why I don't know) with herb compounds painted onto hibiscus petals, where you'd reassemble the flower after painting the compounds onto the petals and poof, your vision would begin. I was having trouble with mine, but Tony and Liz were doing fine, and when Tony finished his flower, I got sucked into his vision instead, and he didn't see it.
In his vision I saw him walking through a dark jungle, on a dirt path, holding a lantern. I can only really see his face and hand from the lantern light, and he stops suddenly, looking at the path. There's this half buried egyptian statue, cleared from the ribcage up, holding a lantern right back at Tony. It looks distinct, with prominent brows and focused eyes, rather than blankly gazing like some statues are. He stares at it a bit but I see something at the statue's head, so I reach up and I grab what turns out to be a golden idol, shaped like two hands joined at the wrist in a straight line. The fingers are really slender and I only see four on each hand. I take it, look at it carefully, feel a pit of the stomach "oh god" feeling and then get sucked out of the vision, and Tony's wondering why his didn't work.
I try to put mine together but the petals are all cilantro or parsely now and I can't make a flower out of it, so we get into a canoe and float away, and I wake up.
(The experiencing it and yet not believing it thing? Liz has a character like this. He carries a complex trio of elemental spirits, hears them speaking and can use their magic to an extent, but flat out does not believe they exist. He's one of her more interesting characters...)
