Ah, yes, Vengeance on Varos. I had forgotten that I in fact had seen this one, at one of the Doctor Who marathons that I helped to put together at MIT, seemingly in my memory as only being seen on three hours' sleep or so.

How I forgot "the one where Peri becomes a bird" is beyond me.

Disturbed's cover of "Land of Confusion" has been handed the Irony Award, not just for Use of Heavy Metal in a Song, but also for completely proving how absolutely hypocritical and pointless the message of Land of Confusion was in the first place. Congratulations.

Nice to see Kerry Emanuel is still doing well. A bit more gray now, but aren't we all...

Took a class from him back when I still thought I was a meteorologist. (Class had 4 people enrolled, but was a requirement to graduate - so couldn't be canceled.) Struck me as very intelligent and thoughtful - and a really nice guy.

Another piece of the global warming puzzle gently falls into place. Preliminarily, as always.

I only comment about it in passing, as really, the real decisions about all of this were made years ago, weren't they? Not much point in bothering with it now.

Touch of sadness, though.

I think I said a long time ago that I liked Yahoo's music bits, particularly the customize-your-own-radio-station part, but that it was very annoying to deal with on a regular basis. Particularly given that it mostly went to a pay-for-everything stance a while back.

Random mp3 playing netted me Sting's "Fortress Around Your Heart", which kinda segued in my mind into a recollection of where the concept of Emrys the blue unicorn came from. I'm in a quiet mood tonight. Emrys really wants to give me somewhat weighty anime theme songs of various sorts, Key of the Twilight from .hack, kokoro yo genshi ni modore from one of the Neon Genesis movies, Breeze from Slayers, a few recollections of Final Fantasy XI theme songs going by. I'm kinda digging the Gorillaz' new single, Dare. It's got a nice sort of dancy vibe to it that, yes, kinda harks back to some of the '80s stuff, if perhaps oversampled.
