This may be the coolest image I've seen in a long time. It would definitely make a nice desktop for the weather geek in you. It is safe for work.

It's also a wee bit scary.

Rita's forecast keeps moving east. I won't say this is good (nothing about a hurricane like this is good), but it'd be a lot less damaging to Houston if Houston were on its west side.

Of course, it's more damaging to the oil industry if it slides east. And more storm surge toward New Orleans.

There are more indications that the remains of Rita are going to stall inland through Monday or Tuesday. Where, of course, is an open question. And quite possibly, like Katrina, it's not the winds that will be the issue, but the water.

I've calmed down a little bit, but it's hard not to watch.
