Go see this show!

If you are anywhere within a reasonable driving distance of Catonsville (say, 50 miles) you want to go see "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" being presented by the Heritage Players. I'm not just saying this because I have 2 friends it it and it was directed by another friend.

The set is fun and minimal and very much in the style of Charles Schulz's Peanuts strip. The cast is spot on for the characterizations; the director's choices close to perfect for the script. This is one of the most charming and delightful plays I've seen. Show length comes in at a comfortable 1 hour and 45 minutes, including a 15 minute intermission. The only fault I could really find was that some of the lighting focus was a bit off and the trouble that was had with the mikes. Yet given that it is in the social hall of the Catonsville United Methodist Church with no permanent light grid to work from (the building is over 100 years old, after all), and that mikes almost always cause trouble, they did very well.

A large portion of all ticket sales is given to charity -- this time (appropriately) the Linus Project, which serves traumatized children. Cost is only $10 for general admission.

Remaining shows are on Saturdays, Nov. 10 and 17 at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays, Nov. 4, 11, and 18 at 2:00 p.m. For more information, see the website at http://www.heritageplayers.com .
