Prompt 9. Miracles, “take the sticker”. Changkyu
Rating: PG-13 | Genre: AU!General, Romance | Disclaimer: I don't own them, SME does. Plot is mine. | Summary: It takes a little less than a miracle for them to meet again; all it takes is a sticker, really - a sticker and some chances.
Warning: UN-BETA'D. CHEEEEEEESY.
Popcorn is sprawled across the tiled ground, for the second time, and people were stepping around it cautiously as to not get it stuck under their shoes. No one ever enjoys leaving traces of their presence behind, it seems.
“It’d be a miracle if not a single piece is left behind,” the not-so-apologetic customer reasoned, bending down and scooping up several pieces that had been kicked to the side.
The associate smiled politely, sweeping at the mass right in front of the counter. “It will take more than a miracle to rid the world of all idiots,” he muttered to himself.
The customer rose a brow, narrowing a single eye. He scanned his view from the employees face to the tag on the right chest of his black and white striped uniform. Changmin, it read. He’d remember that name. “Excuse me?”
“Huh?” Changmin chimed innocently. “Oh, nothing, sir,” he smiled, “I was just saying that I can handle the mess alone, no need for you to dirty yourself in the process. Just proceed to the right theater, and the usher will guide you to your movie. Enjoy!”
When the associate stood up to his full height, the man bit his cheek bitterly. He leaned forward, dusting the name tag softly as he uttered a thought of his own. “My name is Kyuhyun, remember it.”
“Uh, okay,” Changmin blinked.
Kyuhyun then smiled victoriously, taking his fresh box of popcorn and heading towards his movie. In contrast to what he expected, two hours later, when his film finally finished, he did not find the associate he had been anticipating to see.
For a reason unknown to him, he felt disappointed. He wondered if they would ever meet again.

“Just take the sticker.”
“I don’t want the sticker.”
“Look at the poor old woman,” Kyuhyun nudged the boy, “take the sticker.”
Changmin sighed, reaching out and taking a random slip of stickers from the woman standing before him. The lady beamed, bowing slightly as she walked towards another group of people - insisting they took their pick of stickers as well.
“It’s a miracle that we’d run into each other again after so long,” Kyuhyun reasoned. He held out his sheet of stickers and compared them to the ones in Changmin’s hand. Said boy glanced away, nodding slightly. “Do you work a lot, Changmin-ssi?”
Changmin gazed outside of the subway window, hiding his surprise of the stranger remembering his name, watching as the walls zoomed past them in the darkness of the confined station. “It was a temporary thing,Kyuhyun-ssi.”
“Why?” Kyuhyun asked, smiling to himself, shoving his sheet of stickers into Changmin’s hand.
The taller boy took a deep breath, tossing the stickers to the empty seat in front of him. “My parents own the theater, I was just helping out.”
“Oh.”
Changmin watched as Kyuhyun leaned forward to pick the stickers up, shoving them into his pockets. “Why are you keeping them?”
Kyuhyun shrugged. “They’re like miracles,” he grinned, “bringing us back together.”

Countless encounters later (because Kyuhyun had remembered the stop Changmin had gotten off at, and was able to realize that it was a stop that led to a university just off the street), and Changmin found himself being walked to classes by the restless stranger.
That was, at this point, not much of a stranger anymore.
“Why are you even allowed on this campus?” Changmin scowled. “You’re not even a student here.”
Kyuhyun smirked, throwing an arm over Changmin’s shoulders with a bit of difficulty. “Haven’t I told you?” He laughed. “My dad is the principal.”
Changmin gawked at the boy, clearly in disbelief.
Triumphant at the boy’s surprise, Kyuhyun added: “and I told him to keep the gates open for me. I’ll be a frequenter.”

A/N: Speechless. I cannot redeem myself. I'm sorry, I'm still in cheesy mode, I guess. ;A; I just wanted this done and over with.
