Oh, can't forget "Moony face" too, uttered by Harry and then Sirius. And this again, tugged at my heartstrings: Remus who Sirius will let find him. X)
Wow, this whole piece is just so complex and rich and amazingly well written, I can imagine I will discover new things everytime I read it (:

Heartbreakingly sad at times, but beautifully written.
My heart clenched when the wand snapped. That image is going to be staying with me for a very long time I am sure.

Oh, and I've unlocked my notes, though they're really just some short thoughts I wrote up when I was posting the story; hope they're actually interesting.

Thanks for unlocking the notes. I'll go have a look through them right away.

I've unlocked my notes, as well, if you're still interested in looking at them. Sorry about that; they were only locked because I felt weird about having them up before the story itself was available.

I love that the whole tone of the piece reflects the uncertainty and broken edges of the character's own emotions.
I love Moony as a cartologist.

This may just be one of the most sophisticated and well-written r/s pieces I've ever read. And, yes, my dear, so very Virginia Wolf! The half-realized moments of romance and self-awareness are fantastically rendered. And Remus as a cartographer? How appropriate is that?
I love the idea of Magic as being antiquated - or at least of moving away from it and toward Muggle society. I've thought about that before. Western Civ encroaches upon so many other cultures, so why not the Wizarding one? And, yet, what happens when one abandons one's own culture? IS anyone happy? Did anything good come from James and Sirius joining the war? That really resonated for me; not just the hopelessness of the war itself, but the affect on Wizarding culture.
And I loved the AU parallel of a fragile, war-broken (PTSD?) Sirius and low lovingly (and longingly) Remus handles it. Even Remus' interaction with James felt very real and very heart-breaking.
Fantastic!
