whoooooo weee! that was quite and experience. i have to be fair and tell you that internet went out on friday and lasted throughout the weekend, but i had already downloaded this, so it rather kept me company all weekend. i am eternally grateful to you for writing something so long and beautiful that it totally kept my mind off there being no internet. i was utterly engrossed in their world. your characters were so nuanced and complete. that was really impressive ( ... )

Thank you :D

I mean as far as the ending goes, I was already taking a pretty depressing song and giving it a better ending. I think a happy ending would've been dishonest. I do think Remus and Sirius could've worked it out with some communication but Sirius was afraid of even risking that future. I think he wanted to save Remus.

Oh.You really broke me with this one. I really liked how you made this so realistic with a touch supernatural, but in a way that is very believable ( ... )

I think this is the most human story I've written. Life can often be complicated and painful but humans are pretty great at coping.

Yeah, I liked the idea that Sirius had a bit of a trade off... he didn't get to be with Remus but lots of good things still happen. I do think he could've had a better future AND Remus if he had stuck around and talked through their problems instead.

Thank you, thank you :)

You really caught my interest with the "There are rules" line from Death early on, something about that line and the setting felt so intriguing! This story is quite different from most RS fics i've read and there's so much interesting reflection about the nature of love, of living your life on your own terms, and the painful realisation that sometimes love isn’t enough. I'm glad both Remus and Sirius were able to find purpose and fulfillment in life even if it wasn’t with each other; sad as it was that they couldn't make it work. Just like it is in life itself sometimes.

That was heartbreaking but you managed to convey the sense that it was the best path for them, with them managing to find happiness in their own ways. Tracing things back to the point in time where one decision affected that happiness was a really clever device too.

Yeah. Like, I don't actually think this was the best path for them... just a better path. I think Sirius could've worked on communicating with Remus. Though I suppose even a happy relationship would've had ripples (like his daughter.)

Thanks!
