How you slowly revealed the characters after the mysterious first chapter, especially Sirius had great style to it. I just feel so darn upset for Sirius, having to watch Remus be in love with someone else and never getting over him but willing to make peace with it even though he has his moments of selfishness-I think that really made him a perfectly human character here.
His depression and insecurity from when he is young really hurt a lot but I like the way he grew up on his own rather than using someone else as a crutch. The idea of Remus' book not being as famous as he had wanted but then that changing 'now', Remus with a daughter, Sirius finding his voice-such a brilliant, perfect way of showing how little things changed the outcomes so much.
In all of this,I'm really glad that you also showed their good times together, how much Sirius was in love and how Remus too loved him. Though the line 'One day, Remus would understand. One day I will understand too, he thought.' was possibly one of the greatest line I've ever read in a story.

Yeah, I liked the idea that Sirius had a bit of a trade off... he didn't get to be with Remus but lots of good things still happen. I do think he could've had a better future AND Remus if he had stuck around and talked through their problems instead.
Thank you, thank you :)
