i have never been to australia, but you made me feel like i was actually there. and now i want to go. this was like that book 'the thorn birds' in that it really made the landscape and the setting a viable part of the story to the point that it would hardly work in another setting. i an guessing that you really are australia, but i know that for now that's a mystery.
you really worked magic with non-magic au, too. it was amazing how all the characters just felt 'right' in all ways. i liked how you worked in sirius being falsely imprisoned and who was really at fault. i also have to personally thank you for not making snape the bad guy. i have a soft spot for snape. james was really great here, too, and was harry and lily.
it was beautifully written and the ending was particularly lovely. this bit just made my heart sing: he tilts his head the smallest fraction and sirius is there, his lips crushing against remus', hot ( ... )

And aaaah, working with the canon details and weaving them into the narrative is also very neat and you write Sirius so nicely. <3
(Also, the language is very nice? Like, I read the first few paragraphs, then went back and whispered them to myself and I can definitely hear the internal rhythm there. It's almost like a free-form verse. Love it!)
