Just spent the last hour practicing guitar. Yes, on my half-stack. Yes, I'm sure I pissed off everybody in the house. But I don't care, I need it. Why?

Turns out the Council's getting more gigs than previously anticipated. Since the 21st got knocked back to 4/16, we've gotten that gig at the HORR (House of Rock and Roll) on the 4th of March, AND as of yesterday, we're playing at the Joker's Pub on the 26th of this month. On top of that, a local radio station's holding a contest where bands submit a cover of a classic rock song, and then compete in a mini-battle of the bands, where if they win that, they will be able to open for "a major recording artist" on Memorial Day in El Paso. Last year, I believe it was the Doors of the 21st Century who played their Memorial Day bash, so I hope it's them again... They have my favorite vocalist of all time, Ian Astbury of the Cult, singing for them now.

Which is why I'm practicing. For our cover, we're going Judas Priest's "Breakin' the Law" and I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME PLAY A DAMNED SOLO TODAY. It's frustrating. And I REALLY want this one to kick ass, because I don't care if we win (although I WOULD like to hypothetically meet Ian Astbury, if they come back [which I doubt]), but we could use the exposure. So I really need to let this solo rip. Thus, the massive amounts of noise from my room.

Hopefully by tomorrow, I'll have come out of my solo-funk*slump and be able to record something listenable. I was just horrible tonight. But I need to get over it by the 18th, at the latest.

IN OTHER NEWS: Scully FINALLY had her cats. It's actually old news, but I just forgot to post it. They're so small, and one's already opened its eyes. We're not keeping them, though... the house had too may cats when they outnumbered the dogs 3-2, so we don't need eight felines in the house.

Still, they're so small...
