Movie Time
My new hobby is watching “classic movies.” The quotes are there because I’m not really watching older movies necessarily, or even ones that hit the top 100 list. I’m watching movies that are either “great classics” that do fit into that category, movies that I’ve always wanted to watch but never did, movies that people tell me are great, and TV shows that I hear are great. With this set in mind, I’ve watched:
1. The Graduate
· This movie surprised me. I was cheering at the end.
2. When Harry Met Sally
· The chick flick that all chick flick’s aspire to be, but cannot. Loved it.
3. Being John Malkovich
· Out there.
4. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
· A sad statement on the mental health system that was too soon ago.
5. Dune
· Max insisted that we watch this because he loved it when he was a kid. We watched it, horrified the whole time. So. Bad. DX
6. M
· All in German, black and white, and I had to watch it in two go’s because my 21st century mind got bored. Not bad though.
7. Avatar: The Last Air Bender Series
· Finally watched all of book 2 and 3. Such a great show,
8. Buffy: The Vampire Slayer Seasons 1-8
· Watched it through at Dan and Natalie’s urging. I’ve read all of the comics that have come out in season 8, too.
9. Singing In the Rain
· I just adore this. :3
10. Cowboy Bebop: The Movie
· My introduction to the series, and I was really impressed. Need to hunt down and watch the actual series now.
11. Mad Max
· Meh. Not my thing. Ending was ok.
12. Archer
· It’s not Venture brothers, but it makes me happy. Much better drunk than sober fyi.
13. The Boondock Saints
· I thought the beginning was great, the last half was great, but the ending was stupid. Sorry America, I think you’re sad for your obsession with this movie.
Need to watch:
1. Casablanca
2. Cowboy Bebop
3. Full Metal Jacket
4. Akira
… and a lot more that I can’t think of right now.
