Ok, so I went to see RENT last night and while it wasn't as amazing as I'd hoped, it was still freakin' awesome! I'm sure my negative feelings are all because I've seen the movie a trillion times and the Maureen paled in comparison to Idina Menzel's Maureen. I didn't care much for the Mimi, either... Angel was amazing, whoever that acor was, while ( Read more... )

Gah I wish Rent was still here I never got to see it live (but I've seen the movie a gazillion times as well haha)

Yay for Wicked! Have you ever seen it? If not it's amazing!

I was first introduced to Rent with the movie, so when I saw the play I had a hard time not comparing the actors. It was just different to see the show in a way that I wasn't so used to. I enjoyed it, though, and I'm glad you did!

Oh, and if I lived in Florida, I'd so go see Wicked with you :P

Yeah, the Maureen wasn't all that good when I saw it. But I was completely distracted every time Adam or Anthony was visible. And the Angel was amazing. It was even better than I thought it would be. Ever since I became a fan of Rent, I've wished I could see the OBC cast members in it. Especially Adam. And Anthony with him, if I could. So I was just in awe every time they did anything.

There is nothing as cool as live Anthony Rapp's twitchiness, y/y? ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES! And the anticipation clapping was my favorite - I loved how the audience sat on the edge of their seats for well-loved lines. It was fantastic.I didn't get to see Adam Pascal (he was still injured) but I'm so glad you got to!

Eugene and I got lost on the way to Detroit as well (I hate constructions/detours). I ended up getting to my seat LITERALLY 30 seconds before Anthony Rapp walked onstage. So, no love for getting lost here either.

OMG WICKED. DO. IT! I've seen it twice (I liked Ana Gasteyer better than Idina Menzel) and got chills both times.
