Ok, so I went to see RENT last night and while it wasn't as amazing as I'd hoped, it was still freakin' awesome! I'm sure my negative feelings are all because I've seen the movie a trillion times and the Maureen paled in comparison to Idina Menzel's Maureen. I didn't care much for the Mimi, either... Angel was amazing, whoever that acor was, while he's no Wilson, he was still amazing. And of course, Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp were great, but I knew they would be.
Mom liked it alright. She didn't understand why people cheered when certain people came out (Mark, Roger and Angel, mostly) or when certain songs were about to start (La Vie Boheme, Tango Maureen). I had to explain to her that people were just applauding their awesomeness. lol
Really, my only like, real complaint has nothing to do with the musical, because I enjoyed it too much to complain, really, but with where it freaking is. All the way in Tampa. And we sorta got lost (but not really), but Babs (
kicksav29) came to the rescue with mapquest =D It was a long drive, though, and by the time I got home I was kinda exhausted, but it was so worth it =)
...now, if I can only find someone to see Wicked with me in February.
