What's This? What's This? There's Something In The Mansion

Oct 24, 2010 17:04

[Xemnas's mansion is quiet as if abandoned as the eleven bold citizens of Never Was sneak in to find and seal the keyhole. After breaching the ballroom, the foyer, three hallways and a room full of pretentious art, our band discovers a staircase. One side leads up; the other leads down. After some quick negotiation, a little yelling and a game of ( Read more... )

[As they go up, the whispers increase in volume until they're almost clear enough to make out, enough voices to tangle the words together. The lights are bright up here, but the steps are dusty and Rosso, Sora, Ven, Roxas, Squall and Zack should watch their step as they ascend...]

[ She's used to noises such as this from living in Deepground, and so Rosso doesn't spare them a second thought. If it is enemies, she has a feeling that she herself, on her own, is more than a match, much less these four teenagers and the other SOLDIER. Her weapon is drawn just in case, however, and her steps are careful, almost silent on the staircase. When she speaks, it's with authority. ]

We go through each room until there is nowhere left to go. Check them carefully; there may be illusions or traps in place. Try not to take the mansion down around us, darlings~.

Oh, and if we run into Xemnas, it may be... beneficial to capture him alive. [ At first, anyway. ]

[Unfortunately, Zack wasn't quite so light on his feet. The dusty stairs were creaking under everyone else's weight - and of all their weapons. It didn't help that most of them had big feet.]

Uh, if he'll even let himself get captured. He's done pretty good at hiding from everyone so far.

[They all headed into the attic, which was even more dusty than the stairs. He flicks some away with his claws. The attic was huge.] Should we split up?

[An order is an order, and everyone else has been around longer than he has. Squall has no problem listening to Rosso. For now. ...If nothing else, those whispers are unnerving and making the hairs on the back of his neck bristle.

He's taken up the rear of the group, opting to watch their backs on the way up the stairs; his gunblade is in his grasp, resting against his shoulder as he walks.]

(That's assuming he hasn't already heard us with all the noise we're making.)

...We don't know what we're dealing with. If we do split up, it'd be smart to stick close.

[Ven followed carefully, fighting back a wince every time the floor creaked under his footsteps. He had half a mind to shush his feet, but he doubted it would do any good. He just had to be more quiet, was all!

His keyblade was out and at his side, backwards as usual. He was ready for whatever happened, that was for sure! He just..couldn't help but wonder. What would happen? This place was definitely giving him the creeps.

And this whole keyhole thing was a mystery to him. He vaguely remembered hearing about it in a lesson, but he nothing about finding it. That was Sora's place. So, he would just stay quiet and follow the other's lead!]

I think we should stick together. We're stronger as a team! [Just in case they came across some huge monster or somethin'.]

[ Sora took his stance in the near middle of the group. Eyes shifting from one side of the walls to the next. His vision was soon beginning to adjust to the lighting and with his Keyblade grasped tightly within his fingers, Sora's expression took on a whole new level of serious.

Not only was finding the Keyhole important, but the thought of parting ways with Kairi was rubbing him the wrong way. Stupid game... but there wasn't much he could do about it now. Best to just find the Keyhole and get everyone out safely. Finally it was time to seal this world, too! ]

We all came up here as a group, right? So we should stick together! [ There was a small nod before his attention turned to Rosso. ] Wait, capture him...-?

Guess you've all got a point! [It just felt a little strange to be in a group like this - usually he was a one-man show. But he couldn't really complain, since nobody knew what was up here. Except a ton a dust.

It was nearly pitch-black, but that hardly bother Zack and Rosso, thanks to the mako. Sometimes it came in handy. He quickly found a light switch for the benefit of the others and glanced around, ready to jump into action at the slightest movement.]

If there are any traps up here, y'think it's because this is where the keyhole is? It'd be trying to keep us away and all.

[Roxas was following behind Sora, both the Oblivion and Oathkeeper in his hands. He winced a little when Zack turned on the light]

With Xemnas, who knows. There may be traps just because.

We stick together.

[ She's also used to being on her own, but in this case, she doesn't want to "accidentally" kill one of the others. Everyone would get on her case about it.

Turning to look at Sora, expression cool, she repeats herself. ]

Yes. Capture him. If rumors are to be believed, he is holding this world together. If other rumors are to be believed, the rest of the Organization knows little about this place. If anyone knows how we may leave, it would be him. If we come across him, he needs to be alive to tell us these things.

[When the lights came on, Ven blinked several times, allowing his eyes to adjust.

He nodded in agreement to Sora's statement, glad another agreed with him. To the capturing comment....well, he didn't really know much about this Xemnas guy. But if he was the one behind them all getting kidnapped and stuck here, then he agreed that they needed to catch him!]

We all better stay on guard, then! If this Xemnas guy really is behind us being here, then who knows what else he's got up his sleeve.

And if we keep talking, he's going to hear us coming. Be quiet.

[Squall sounds a little peeved. Why did he get stuck with these guys? He has a strong feeling they aren't the types for subtlety and he's really hating every bit of it.]

Traps? Man, I sure hope not. [ A small headscratch before his attention grew shaper. The last thing they needed was to be slowed down by something like that. ]

Alright! I think I get-- [ When Squall spoke up his sentence came to a halt. Hm, he did have a point. So instead of giving Rosso a verbal answer, he instead nodded in her direction. Putting a finger to his lips to motion for the rest to quiet down. This was a secret mission, after all! ]

[Zack chuckled lightly, but otherwise didn't say anything. He didn't mind being stuck with the kids. All he had to do was make sure Rosso didn't throw him him through another wall and he'd be fine and dandy.

They all quietly made their way into the first room, his eyes immediately darting around for any wayward Heartless or traps. When nothing jumped out, he started looking around behind things on the walls, figuring that if the keyhole was up here, it'd probably be hidden. A piece of dust flew up his nose and he sneezed.]

Man, this guy needs a housekeeper.

Probably'd make the dusks do it if he could. [Roxas mutters this under his breath, so only those directly around him would hear it]

[When Squall told everyone to be quiet, Ven shut his mouth and nodded. He was right, though! They did need to be quiet. H-Heh.

But, of course, that didn't last long. When Roxas made his comment, he was close enough to hear. He couldn't help but raise his eyebrow.]

Dusks? [He asked this softly, not wanting to anger the stern looking male.]

[ Rosso also heard Roxas, though she wasn't close; mako-enhanced senses were rather lovely in that regard. Before the young Keyblader can reply, however, the voice-like sounds halt.

Rosso tenses, her grip on her blades tightening--

--and then the doors shut and the lights go out. It's a strange sort of darkness, one that can't be seen through with magic or even scientifically altered senses. In fact, all that can be seen are glowing yellow eyes... ]
