I smiled at him and we all left the courtroom. I had to give Leo one last kiss goodbye, he walked us out to a private room and even though it might freak out Lorne, he orbed us to the offices ( Read more... )

This was all happening way too fast, but I would have to understand that these people are my friends, and they were the type of people who would stop at nothing to help one another out.

Even though I didn't know Angelina, she was a friend among my friends. I examined her carefully, and with due concentration, the colours of her aura came pouring out at me like the floogates had been open.

"Hmm.. nice warm pink colour.." I thought to myself.

I allowed myself to exhale.

I followed them back to the offices. When we arrived I was able to take off my hat and gloves.

She had offered me housing. I didn't know if I wanted to take it, because I didn't know how long I planned on staying. It really all depended on how my nerves would take to this whole situation. Although, the motel I stayed at last night was far below my standards. Maybe a personal room with a working shower might be nice.

I forced myself to smile at Angelina.

"A room sounds terrific.. I-If you have space for me. I could always just stay at the motel.."

I smiled at him and looked him directly in the eyes.

"I guess you haven't seen the outside of this building. Its a huge renovated apartment complex that has over 50 state of the art buildings for housing of Angel and his team and the council, along with slayers in training."

I said softly

"We have all the room in the world. I will go set you up in one of the larger apartments so you have all the room to rest and relax and feel like you are in a luxury hotel. Also...I think I have heard stories about you. You sing and like seabreezes...would you like me to get you some liquor for your place?"

The young girl was looking me full in the face, in all my green-and-horns glory. I felt like such a mess. My hair dangled in my eyes and I rarely smiled. This was as much of a first impression as I felt like giving her.

She's heard stories about me. I wonder what they told her. That crazy hepcat lounge-singin' lamé wearing over-eccentric swinger. Or something along those lines. Way to build the girl up to this disappointment. Dishevelled, grumpy, and scowling. Hm ( ... )

I walked over to him and placed a calming hand on his shoulder.

"Lorne, I know that you will be ok in time...and if you ever need someone to talk to who won't judge you or look down on you...I am here."

I smile and go over to the desk calling the local liquor store having all the best for Lorne delivered to the offices here then I head to the apartment I am setting up for him and prepare it for Lorne.

After Angelina had left, I turned to Angel and gave him a slightly embarassed look. I really didn't want my friends to see me this way, but I suppose there really was no avoiding it.

I reached my arm up and rubbed the back of my neck and looked down at the floor. I knew Angel wanted me to spill the beans and I wasn't ready. I didn't come here to discuss my whereabouts, or to try to justify the way I was feeling or what happened to me.

But God, I needed a drink. Bad.

I turned my head and looked apprehensively at Angel, still grasping the back of my neck.

I finished the room and met the man with the alcohol setting up the bar in the process. Once I had all of that together I made my way back to the office with a prepared seabreeze for Lorne.

I got to the office and they were all talking so I quietly set the drink in front of Lorne and then made my way to the desk to finish making calls for Giles. I also needed to call my work about missing work.

"You're going to be okay, Lorne. We'll take care of you. And you'll be very helpful to us. I'm glad you're here, I worried about you after you left."

I stopped, looking at him, and quite frankly I still worried about him, but at least he was here, and we could help him, and then he could be part of the team. That was what counted.

"Drink your seabreeze, and then we can talk, really talk. I want to know where you've been, how you're feeling, and most importantly, what made you come out of hiding."

"Yeah man, you said for us to never come find you. And here you are. Please tell me another apocalypse isn't coming, because we just got through with one and I am still dog tired."

I looked at him, glad he was alive, despite the horrible try at being incognito with the hat and glasses. Kermit the frog would have easier time blending in than poor Lorne.

"Anyway, I'm glad you're back on the team, bro. We could always use more help."

"Yeah, glad you're back. And I could use a bloody drink too. We got any whiskey around here?"

All that happened, I didn't have much to complain about, but whiskey is always good for the soul...well even when I didn't have one. Why should he be the only one drinkin' anyway?

"So where the bloody hell have you been, green man?"

I looked at Spike with a smile

"Check the kitchen in the back. Fully stocked as well"

I then went back to what I was doing

I sat down in one of the office-type couches nearby and grabbed the drink sitting on the table. It seemed like forever since I tasted that blend of cranberry and grapefruit, and the rich red colour of it alone made my hand quiver ( ... )

I carefully got up and went in the back to get the alcohol and get Lorne another drink. I made him a stronger and larger one this time then returned to the group. I also handed Spike the bottle of whiskey.

"I feel like a waitress"

I muttered not really to anyone just mouthing off. I returned to my seat and didn't say another word.

"Thanks pet, and if you want, I'll give you a tip next time, maybe even slap your ass, make you feel like a real waitress."

I got a warning glance from Angel, but I couldn't help myself. I had heard what she bloody said. I didn't ask her to get it for me, just where it was.

I looked over at Lorne, sipping my whiskey, waiting for him or someone else to talk again.

I walk over to him and whisper in his ear

"If I wasn't taken I would show you a thing or two. I suggest however you be nice to me, or maybe I will have a vision of your staking."

I let my warm breath hit his cool ear

"of course...if you want to slap my ass..."

I chuckled as I stood and turned to walk away

Bloody little tart. I could show her a thing or two. "Don't tease me, little girl. I don't care if you're a slayer, I could take you and make you scream, do way more than slap that tight ass of yours."

ENOUGH, Spike! Angelina, go sit back down and work.

Me and my big mouth. But if she wanted to, we could have it out later. Then again, if that got back to Buffy, it wouldn't be good for me. Stupid git of a slayer that Angelina is...

Angel yelled and I cowered a bit then returned to my seat. I still had issues with yelling and such. Gotta love what happens after you watch your watcher murdered. I was trying to curb that fear within me.
