F.A.Q.
1. Is bandom/sports/whatever RPF allowed?
Yes. Any type of real person fiction is allowed. As long as the fandom has real people available you may sign up. Celebrities only! Stories about your BFF or internet users will not be accepted this year. Sorry!
2. Is it okay to use a fictional 'verse?
Yes. As long as the main characters are real people you may certainly use a fictional universe. For example you can send Jensen Ackles to Hogwarts or have Daniel Radcliffe become a big bad demon hunter that drives a '67 Impala.
3. Are crossovers and AUs allowed?
Yes. They are welcomed and encouraged.
4. Can we sign up to write more than one fic?
Unfortunately we're stretched for artists, so we ask that you write only one fic.
5. Can I sign up as an artist and author?
Absolutely! Please sign up in both places though so that we don't miss you.
6. Do I have to know what fandom I want to write for when I sign up?
We ask for fandom just to get a general idea of what everyone will be writing, it is no way a requirement. If you're not sure at the time of signing up that's perfectly okay. However, we do ask that by the first check in you do have a set fandom.
7. Are co-authors allowed?
Yes.
8. I'm going to be out of town, what should I do?
Check the schedule, and if you are going to be gone after October 5 please let a mod know. That is when final drafts are due and a posting schedules will then be compiled. If you are going to be away from the internet at any point after that, let us know what dates so we can work around it. If you are going to be gone ON September 3rd, please have your rough draft submitted before then.
9. What do you mean by WIP?
A WIP (work in progress) is any story that has been started and not finished. Whether that is a story that you've posted online in chapters or a fic that you started and have never finished. Please see the rules for other information regarding WIPs and previously written stories.
10. Can I make a fanmix for my story? What about a podfic?
You sure can! However any art that is done for it must come from the artist. Otherwise it'll have to wait until the end of the round. The same goes for any other artwork created for the story. It must come from your assigned artist only.
If the author of your story is comfortable with you doing a reading for it, we absolutely welcome podfic.
11. Can I link to a flocked post?
Sorry, but no. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the story and artwork and that can't happen if it's locked down. You may certainly post to a sock account, as this is RPF we understand the reservations. However, please let us know at sign-ups whether you will be doing this so that no one gets confused.
12. I finished my story, how do I send it in?
A more detailed post will be coming once the deadline approaches, but if you finish before then you can send it to rpfbigbang@gmail.com with a final title, any warnings and at least a 1 paragraph summary.
13. I have an artist already, is it okay if they do art for my big bang?
Yes! If you already have an artist from a previous challenge or a really awesome friend, then by all means have at it. However we do ask that you have them join and watch the community to keep up with important posts, as well as when the time comes ask them to sign up in the provided post. We don't want to lose anyone in the chaos! :D
14. I signed up last year but was unable to finish, can I still sign up for the latest round?
You sure can. We're not going to punish anyone here. This is a fun challenge for fanfic, not your job.

#15. Do I need a beta?
It's not a requirement. I (
primreceded) would be a hypocrite if I said definitely yes. However, please make sure that your story is readable. Proper punctuation and formatting are essential. You don't have to use a beta reader, but do try to make sure people can get through your work.
This is not a rule, but something that needs to be addressed nonetheless. If you have an issue with an author or their story, do feel free to contact a mod about it. However, please do not expect us to police anything that is posted here. Unless the story is somehow illegal, we are not going to censor. The same goes for artwork. If it meets the guidelines and rules of the round, and again, is not illegal, the author and/or artist has every right to post their work to this community. If you have an issue with an author/artist, do not bring it to the community. Air your grievances on your personal journals or through PMs. Better yet, sometimes it can be as simple as if you don't like it, then don't read it. We'll do what we can to make sure proper disclaimers are in place, and that all warnings are posted, but anyone following the rules will not be told they can't post.
A breakdown of specific rules for writers and artists will be posted when the sign up posts go live. But until then, if you have any other questions, feel free to comment, PM or email us at RPFBBmod@gmail.com
