I wish I had the courage to app back here. It was so much fun before I found a bunch of people hating on the way I was playing my character.

A good chunk of people who behaved like that have left or moved onto other games. Just keep an open mind and an HMD ready, there's lots of fun to be had.

there's a certain player in this game who apparently gets their jollies from driving others out of the game. they always do it quietly, and they only do it to people in the casts they play in ( ... )

I know exactly who you're talking about, but like you, I only hear it secondhand. I keep a wide distance, I stay out of the casts, but it's still very frustrating to see happening. I haven't said anything or dropped a name because I don't want to make waves in an otherwise very calm game.

Maybe they'll do something in public someday? Or to me? This is really all I'm hoping for.

Can we get a cast name drop? I'd really rather know before I accidentally app into one of them someday.

I witnessed this some months ago, or at least it sounds exactly like a situation I observed unfolding. One player was slowly driving people out of a cast, hijacking it and making things unbearable for players they didn't like and for people who had CR with players they didn't like. Fortunately the culprit left the game a few months back, and while this was a relief for the people who were bullied, so far none of them have re-apped the characters they dropped as a result of the perpetual harassment.

To hear that something similar is happening now really angers and disappoints me, especially since the game has seemed incredibly peaceful this spring.

I'd highly recommend dropping the mods a quick message in the comment box, just so that they are at least aware of your concerns about this player. Even if you don't have specifics, you can anonymously let them know that there is trouble in a certain cast.
