Q. What is RP_Discuss about?
A. Have you always wanted to ask a question about role playing but haven't found the right community to ask it in? Have you wanted to gather ideas about a role play you want to put together, but the communities you've found don't really allow it? Then rp_discuss is the place for you. Here you can ask the Raging RP questions you have about plots, characters, and role playing style.
The idea of this community came from there being no really appropriate place to discuss various topics about role playing. If there are any, they're inactive communities. What we decided is to create a community with an environment for those curious role players who have ideas and want to share them.
Q. What do we consider as snark and flaming?
A. Snark is basically any sort of unneeded sarcasm directed toward someone. Flaming is making an offensive statement.
Q. What are the rules when discussing sex and violence?
A. While we generally want to keep this community at a G-PG level, there are probably those who are going to have questions reguarding sex and violence in games. With that said, here's the deal:
-Place all content having to do with sex and violence under an LJ cut, no matter how short the post is going to be.
-Place a warning in your post before the LJ cut so that those who do not want to read it do not have to.
-If you do not do this, we will comment and ask you to do so. We will also friend the post. If for any reason we find that you have not put a warning in your post or placed it under an LJ cut, the post will be deleted.
Q. What kinds of things can you provide for the members?
A. We can give you ideas/feedback, offer advice, and answer basic questions about role playing. We come from different role playing backgrounds and have a lot of things to offer you.
Q. What can this community offer to us in terms of activity?
A. Well, that's partially up to you. While we do hope that you'll make posts in the community asking for help, we do realize that you're not always going to have something to ask for help about. So what we're hoping is that we can come up with some weekly prompts of some sort to help keep the community active.
Q. If we have any ideas for activities, what do we do?
A. Reply to one of the posts made by one of the mods (awritersfantasy, dieinahole, and prettygothgirl) and ask. Or if needed, we'll make a post where you can give your suggestions.
