Change is imminent

I feel change in the air; I nearly always sense major change sometime before it arrives, and what's more, quite often my internal baromoter is good at reading when it is time to move on.

Work is going along alright at the moment, however, I am becoming increasingly aware of how things go around and around in circles and that I work with people that have been traversing those circles for many years now (25 years in one case, 13 in another and 9 in one other). I realise that I am not one of those people... this job was really all about just getting me to Sydney and it has turned out to be so much more. I am now a sustainability expert, have a pretty good grasp on the whole climate change and business issue, and what's more am even more aware of how the system actually works. Amuses me to think how many people don't actually know how the system works and hence when they hear Johnny talking about offering rent assistance they think he is great and vote for them... how dumb they are; the idiot is actually trapping them within the vicious circle they think voting for him gets them out of...

So change is imminent; I think I need to move to more tangible project based work. Property development is the easy option and one I am definitely interested in if for no other reason than to learn how that system really works. Longer term I don't want to be in the property game, but rather managing innovation projects, but who knows how long it will take me to get there. The big question at the moment is if I go out and seek something or let it come to me... Given that we trying to buy a place it probably looks better to be employed by the same person for two years as I currently am; hence I think I will let it come to me... funnily enough that has always worked really well in the past.

For the record I am very taken by Matt's half offer, but if past experience is anything to go buy, when I feel change is imminent, it never ends up as I think it will... although it always ends up for the better!
