Missy, MissyMae, Missers, KissyMissers, Little Miss. I called her those names and fifty more. She guarded the door of Slocum homes for 13 years; raised 2 girls, 3 cats, and 2 search dogs, and slept in front of heaters and fireplaces so we wouldn't get too warm. No squirrel was safe in our yard with Missy on watch and few dogs I've ever known have appreciated "byebye-cars" like her.
Your basket will be empty when I get home. I will miss you my friend, and your Ow-Wow-Wow greeting at the door.
Rest well, you deserve it.
